Cobra's Curse at Busch Gardens Tampa!

Cobra's Curse is a ride that I don't see get talked about very often, and seems to tend to find itself buried in BGT's very stacked lineup. But make sure you don't miss this one while you're there, because as family coasters go at least, this one is near the top of the class.

It's a Mack Rides spinning coaster, but in a different style from pretty much all of their other spinners. The first third of the ride is taken forwards, the second third taken backwards, and then the final section is free-spinning. This varied experience, along with a layout that's a lot more dynamic and interesting than most other spinners (or at least the non-extreme spinners) puts this one well ahead of the other spinning coasters I've done like Shredder and Laff Trakk.

But what really sets Cobra's Curse above most other family coasters is it's cohesive story that it tells throughout the whole ride. Starting in the queue all the way through the end of the ride experience. It tells the story of an ancient Egyptian snake king who cursed the snake statue to kill anyone who tries to excavate or otherwise mess with it. The whole ride area is themed to that excavation site, with even the ride's elevator lift themed to look like the equipment used for that kind of process. And then of course, the huge snake statue that you come face to fang with at the start of the ride looks absolutely amazing.

I remember the ride itself being fun and interesting, but I almost remember waiting in the line more than the ride itself lol. When I want to BGT, this was easily the longest line I waited in the whole day. I don't remember exactly how long it was, but I saw the pre-show projection with the snake on the wall sooo many times as I slowly made my way through that room lmao. It was a really cool queue though, just be sure to hit this ride early in the day if you want to avoid a really long line lol.

(1) - (3): Badewannen-Fahrt zum Jungbrunnen (translated: Bath-tub ride to the Fountain of Youth; log flume by Mack Rides); Beware! The bath tubs coming down from the tower will violently drench you while you're on the walkway to the loading station (Pic 1); I was all soggy by the time we got there

(4) & (5): G'sengte Sau (Gerstlauer Wild Mouse) I found on google that it translates to "Road hog" which I guesssss is accurate; question to Gerstlauer though: Who hurt you that you feel the need to build such violent brake runs?! (I sure know who hurt me (It was Gerstlauer))
