liv understood that sentiment. having to go out and pretend she was single and available had been so hard, and although she hadn't dated anyone, it had made her nearly gag every time a studio had wanted her to pretend to be enamored with her co-star. because a showmance sold and they could make money on that. but, liv couldn't do that. she couldn't go out and pretend to be interested in someone that wasn't chad. she just wasn't that type of girl.
even if the world didn't know that she was dating chad dylan cooper, she knew, and that was what was most important. she and chad knew what their relationship was and not wanting hollywood in on it was their choice. it meant they had to deal with the obstacles and while they'd anticipated that, it didn't make it all that much easier.
she swallowed the lump in her throat that formed at his words, taking a step closer and sliding her hand into his, squeezing his gently. ❝ we don't have to pretend anymore. we get to live our lives and not care about who knows what. this is it, this is what we've been waiting for. ❞ she says, and then takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
they were about to walk the red carpet for the first time as a couple, not just as co-stars in their tv show, and it was daunting. they were announcing to the world that they were an item, and that they were both off the market, and it was something liv had, admittedly, been scared to do. not that she didn't want the world to know, because she did. she was just scared of giving up their privacy. they'd been so lucky the last few months, to get so much time to learn each other and really get to develop and work on their relationship, making it into something that would last.
finally, they were signaled, and liv put on her best red carpet face, ready to take on the world with her chaddy by her side as they made their way onto the carpet.
