Inkworks Battles - Colette VS Mackinsey
Honestly. How was she meant to go about this? Colette held her elbow in her hand, using the other to tap her cheek in quiet contemplation, head tilted slightly to the side as she stared down her opponent. The opponent in question was a yellow and purple donkey who, at the moment, was only halfway solid - the rest of it was in some sort of gaseous state. Colette couldn't tell the gender, or if it even had one, but she supposed it didn't matter. An opponent was an opponent. The more pressing issue was how exactly she was meant to fight the gaseous donkey. The donkey in question didn't give her time to think, propelling itself forwards at her, arm dispersing into some sort of gas - Colette guessed sleeping gas - that, when it was close enough, it swung in an arc at her face. Colette reacted quickly, pulling the scythe off of her back and barely registering the startled look on Mackinsey's face as she seemingly pulled it from midair before swinging it in a carefully calculated arc to disperse the gasses to prevent herself from being knocked out. The tactic was successful, and Colette slammed the butt end of the scythe into Mackinsey's chest, sending the thoroughly confused gaseous donkey back a few feet. Colette adjusted her stance even as the donkey tried to process the sequence of events. "What?" it eventually asked. "But- you were-" "You see what I want you to see," Colette smiled, speaking in a soothing voice- but Mackinsey clapped its hands over its ears, as if in pain. "You hear what I want you to hear, feel what I want you to feel. The moment you entered my field of vision..." She spun the scythe around so she held it behind herself. "You came into my range." Mackinsey yelled out in pain. It seemed to realize something, because it began moving away from Colette. "I'll find a way," it hissed. "To bypass your range. You won't beat me so easily next time." Mackinsey floated off somewhere, and Colette sighed, returning the scythe to her back and hiding it from view. She yawned, stretched, and turned around. "Mm... Long day," she sighed. "Best be getting some rest..."
Candace: If you will give me a moment? I've some last minute finances to take care of…
…
All right, that's that. Now then, let me take a look at your inquiry. You wish to speak prices, correct? Now, prices will entirely vary based on what you wish for us to do. We at Lost Rooster, Incorporated have many skills and specialties which we put to use for those around us. Price, of course, varies on several factors, including but not limited to difficulty, the task itself, and who is involved in carrying out the task.
Of course, based on the task or the one carrying it out, the price may be anywhere from absurdly steep to the gaining of information to simple agreement between the two parties. In one instance, one Ms. Asha came to us for help in kidnapping her friend who was overworking himself. Instead of giving monetary compensation, she made an agreement with Mr. Losroo to not interfere with the business of the Lost Roosters from then on in. I do not know why this agreement was proposed, but who am I to question our boss?
Anyway, one of the points I mentioned was who was involved in carrying out the task. Lost Rooster, Incorporated has seven members, including myself, who work on the mercenary side of affairs.
Candace: Lemming and Mackinsey serve as something of a jack of all trades. They have many talents and skills, and the two of them serve as our main manpower. The two of them prefer monetary compensation and are more likely to charge more when they're involved.
Candace: Stephen prefers to dabble in information gathering, while Willow is more of a technological expert, but if needed they can easily take over other duties should Lemming and Mackinsey be unavailable. These two prefer to gain information but are not impartial to receiving money - especially Stephen, who helps support his family through his work.
Candace: As far as our resident Phantom Thief goes, she is something of an enigma. She'll sometimes work for pay, sometimes for free. She also enjoys keeping gemstones she gets from her job.
So, to conclude? It would be best to simply speak to us directly if you wish to hire us. ((MOD: MOTHERFU)) ((Zman Magic Kumori Shenanigans - 4/10))
