Just some of my Pons over the years
So I've had a rough day...like REALLY rough, but hearing Jacob Pope won the Maclay...
I am sitting here in a puddle of tears. He is a working student, has worked for everything he has, and is such a fun guy and good person and I just am so very happy and proud of him and his accomplishments. He is the embodiment of the reason why I made this blog. I wanted to let everyone know, if you work really hard and follow your dreams you could make it. It wouldn't be easy it would be 500x harder than anything you'd ever do in your life, but you could do it.
I want everyone to remember that you can do it. Hard days are going to come, but don't lose hope. There will be days you want to sit down in the mud, as the sweat and tears pours off of your face and your hands are bleeding and your knees ache, but the pay off is going to mean so much more.
This sport isn't for the weak minded. You have to be tough, and not all of us are going to be professional riders/trainers or barn owners. If you work hard though you might be able to do something else in the horse world though, or hey would it really suck to be #1 in the US for the 3'ft Adult Ammy Hunters? No, we all have to find our niche. If you aren't privileged you're going to have to work hard to achieve your goals, but never forget that they are achievable.
Never forget that...the next time you want to cry because you've done the barn work all day and now your trainer is making you jump around without stirrups and you're wondering if it is worth it, remember this post and Jacob Pope.
Alright National Horse Show, I'm here and I'm here to win.
