I've spent these last two weeks re-reading "The Stand" by Stephen King, very appropriate theme. This time I managed to get a copy of the extended version in my #kindle I got obsessed with #stephenking when I was younger and read so many of his novels, back when I was living in Spain... It and Salem's Lot literally made me shit my pants. The Stand, which I read originally as "La danza de la muerte",or "Apocalipsis" is a post-apocaliptic novel, when a flu-like virus devastates the world's population. But it's much more than that: good and evil, and how fine the line between both is. Last year's Booker Prize winner, @bernardineevaristo "Girl, Woman, Other" is a heartbreaking masterpiece, so many characters interwoven, in this rendering of what is to be a #Black #girl #woman #other in racist Britain. Not all is bad, good or what you expect, but it's an eye-opening testimony of what it's about to be a minority, wanting to fit or even trying to ignore your past.
