1). I’m smart. ‘Nuff said.

2). I have the best friends in the world. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them.

3). I am resilient and strong. I’ve faced a lot in my life (things that I don’t like to share) and I have come out on top. So when things get tough, I just have to remind myself that when you’re going through hell, keep going.

4). I have a pretty decent singing voice, and the best pro-singing buddy ever, shattertheceiling!

5). I think I am pretty funny? Whatever, I’ll always have someone who laughs at my jokes no matter how dumb they are: ME!

it's more romantic to believe we are stardust

every object has a weak gravitational pull,

but space metaphors can only take us so far-

reality's pull is stronger

and it leaves me crashing and burning.

mathematically

feelings are merely a factor in an equation our lives mapping a graph between x and y coordinates of our value and somewhere between our worth and effort a linear path towards y = 0 (please excuse my dear aunt sally, she's had her variables scrambled.)

i learned that words are power

magic breath and thought

i learned the value of each syllable

three random sounds make an emotion

i used it to write

i used it to impress with a bauble of a word

but i used it to speak, too

to know what to say

when to say

how to say

i calculate each one, the equation of the moment for none is the same as the last

but i don't think i can learn enough

to teach me what to say

to a man with blue eyes and a sad frown

in all moments i think not even my magic words can encompass what is in my soul

i do well enough to make you smile, i suppose

they say not to throw "love" around

not to diminish the meaning

but even now it isn't enough

reasons to stay up late

i think with the most clarity in the hours when my eyes are most clouded deep in the night when the stars hang overhead and the earth is cold and sleeping beneath me on this mountain i could reach up and touch the moon, i could fall into infinity i never feel as alive as i do when i am closest to death and the web that connects me to all things in the unending black of space reflects inwards, and there is as much string there as there is outside and i often wonder if i am a universe within a universe and if so, whose spirit holds me?

she sits before the whirlpool contemplating offerings to bacchus (open up, say ah, but all that comes out are toads and salamanders) so fear outweighs the promise of a blessing, and she keeps them for another day-- (another day of miserably waiting for a transformation to roses and diamonds)

and when you say you are not perfect,

i will sprinkle your virtues along the map of your body

and touch each with my eager palms -

your spine is where your will is housed;
