Winter is coming and is so id the ice climbing

What a winter wonderland it is right now in the Ottawa Valley! At early sunset so close to the solstice, we went into the forest at the parents’ farm to hunt for a Christmas tree in a swamp of balsam fir and black spruce. It was so cold and so beautiful, the setting sunlight reflecting off the snow like countless diamonds spread over the frozen earth.
