Nothing is Impossible Unless you Believe it is // maddesthatta
“What do you mean -pulled off course-? That can’t happen!”
Klaxons screamed from above, matched by a blinking light that bathed the console room in red. Frustrated, the timelord whirled around the centre of the room, fiddling with buttons and levers. And holding on for dear life when the machine would wrench itself to the side, rather violently.
“Come on, old girl! Pull it together. We can escape this!”
Another sudden lurch and he was thrown to the side, grabbing hold of a safety bar just in time. This was not going well. Something had grabbed hold of the tardis and was pulling it down. And that should be impossible. Unless.....the shields were down. STUPID! He’d given Clara flying lessons the day before, hadn’t he learned anything?
There was a loud crash and he flew forward, slamming into the floor. Smoke filled the room and it took the battered timelord more than a few minutes to realise he should really get out. Right now. Or he would be toasted and roasted. Rolling on his side and pulling down a drawer beneath the console he removed a canvas bag filled with emergency items and tardis fixing tools. One of River’s little ideas from long ago. Quite handy too.
He then flung open the door and fell out, onto blue green grass. The timelord turned to see the time machine, seemingly swallowed up by a moving forest of vines and leaves.
“What?! No, come back here. Let go of her!” He was talking to leaves....
Leaves weren’t going to listen to him and these seemed very intent in keeping him away. Fine. She’d be safe, he hoped. Until he could find someway to get to her and fix whatever had happened. He hefted the bag over his shoulder and searched for something in the horizon that spoke of civilisation.
But before he even had time to question why there were large colourful flowers surrounding him or why they seemed to be whispering (roses tended not to whisper in his experience) he missed his step and tumbled down a hill into the mud.
“Not my day...” He rasped before passing out. It really wasn’t his day at all.
