perhaps it’s will’s doe-eyed idolization of john kramer and company that has earned him a seat at the kids’ table. he certainly feels like one when she addresses him, though he supposes he should be used to it by now. at metro he gets their respectful nods, though he knows the shape of the precinct well enough to realize they talk about him. there? well, there it’s okay. because he knows a little something they don’t.
here, though, in front of amanda, it’s different. is he intimidated? he doesn’t have the same confidence, borderline arrogance, of knowing something she doesn’t. in fact, he’s all-too-aware he’s green when it comes to his games, even with as long as he’d been planning them. will’s expression falters for maybe the first time since he’s addressed her. his eyes won’t meet hers.
“trust me, amanda, i know more than you think. and i can prove that to you. i may be younger than you, but i didn’t spend this long planning what i’d dreamt of forever just because i’m an idiot.”
