Madelene: Okay, my baby prince, mama has her music to practice, so how about we go look for daddy, so he can read you a story to sleep.
Adalwen: Stowy on piwates?
Madelene: -laughs- I think daddy likes the elf prince story more.
Adalwen: Ada know pwince stowy! Ada wants piwates!
Rylan looks back at River, half tempted to stay but he knew they had to much to do for that to happen.
“I'll message Annette as soon as we get there, that way we get helping hands, and our three first adoptions all at the same time.” “Yes, let's go princess.”
River takes his hand and gives him a gentle kiss, leading him outside to their jeep so they can drive to their shelter and start the event. The trip over mostly being random talk about the pets, and Hayden having put a list on the front desk of people coming who wanted a certain pet already so they could get them ready up front, as they pull up, he takes out his phone and messaged Annette that they are there so they can join them whenever. They pull up to the shelter, River opening the door for Rylan.
“The interns are already here. Let's go open up the place.”
He walks to the front door, greeting the waiting interns and volunteers and opens the front door letting everyone in. Rylan walks over to the main desk, where he finds the list his brother has made, hanging it up the list in the vet office so they can all see it. His eyes rested on Logan's name, paired with Mel who needed just a dog like him according to Vy. He had worked hard with training him, and as he stood there he knew he would miss him. He also saw Polar there who they had paired with a young girl who needed a dog to help her around the house so he knew he would miss both of them, but he hoped they would both fit with their new owners.
“Rylan?”
Rylan snaps out of his thoughts, and sticks his head out the door, seeing Annette, Marie and Madelene stand there waving at him.
“How did you get here so fast?” “We decided to go to the cafe around the corner and just wait. It means we can do the paperwork for our pets now and let my husband take them to their new home.” “I can go get them ready, and we can do the paperwork then?” “Yes! My fiance is awaiting our kitty, all black and beautiful!”
Madelene smiled widely as all three of them smiled at each other, clearly all ready to have a new furry friend.

I really like her!
“Are your parents coming, Rylan?” “Yep, they're just following Vy to work, then they will pop right over with Hayden.”
He smiles, noticing a girl he has met several times the last few weeks.
“Ah, come to get Polar?” “Yes!” “Come one and let's get him, while your dad handles the paperwork?” “Yep!”
She holds out her hand letting Rylan take it and guide her. She wasn't completely blind, but having Polar as a guide and helper dog would give her a lot of freedom.
“We'll be right back.”
River smiles as he watches Rylan lead the girl back.
“Okay, sir. Let's get things ready for Polar”
He looked through the things for Polar, he was a good boy, a white dog of unspecified breed, but still very beautiful dog. He had been trained by Rylan, was among the dogs that Rylan had started with, he was still wondering if giving the dog to Mel was a good idea, he looked at Rylan and sighed. He hated keeping this away from Rylan, but he had a feeling if he told Rylan, the man would be a nervous wreck all day.
“Okay sir. Here it is all signed up. Also if you come here to the clinic, we'll give you a twenty five percent discount on the vaccines and checkups for the first year.”
Rylan walks out again with the little girl having Polar in a harness that makes him a working dog, smiling as the two easily find their way back to her dad without any off his help.
“We are ready!” “Well, I need one last pet, but to do that.” “I have to take him off the harness.” “Exactly.”
He smiles as she takes it off quickly, and then gives Polar a good pet and a kiss on top of the head.
“You be good for Irina, and help her with all she needs.”
He chuckles as Polar licks his face.
“I will take good care of him, I promise!” “I know you will, and if you need any help with anything, you just call us, okay?” “Okay!”
Rylan smiles as he finds himself hugged before Irina, her dad, and Polar make their way back out again. looking over at River about to say something when he notices a group of people coming in pointing at him.

River smiles as he sees Madelene and Annette
“Welcome ladies, you're early. I know, you couldn't wait to get to take your babies. While Rylan goes get them , I'll prepare the paperwork.”
he walks over to the office and returns with stacks of paper he had prepared for the adoptions. He set them on a table and took a pair of papers for Madeline and for Annette.
“Okay, just fill in with your addresses, contacts and basic info and I'll fill in the pets information.”
Rylan smiles, first going to find Madelene’s Daisy, taking her out off her cage, Daisy crawling her way to her shoulder which she loved, Rylan just laughing before getting Donald and Norma, a Labrador mix and a Schafer, taking them on a leash walking back to the others who are done filling out the papers by the time he joins them.
“Here you go Daisy, a new shoulder for you to live on”
He smiles putting Daisy on Madelene's shoulder who just grins as Daisy finds her spot. Then hands Donald's leash to Madelene and Norma too Annette.
“There we go.”
River chuckles and fills in the papers once they're handed to him, adding the chip numbers of each pet and giving them their papers, the pet's id so they can register them on city hall, and a small voucher for a free grooming and a twenty five percent discount on vaccines on his clinic for the pets.
“Okay, ladies. All settled and I see the boy and ladies have found their new perches.”
He pets Daisy gently and hands Madeline everything, then hands the other three their papers.
“The three first done, many more to come.”
He smiles at them as they head out to send their pets to their home, then looks at River smiling about to say something when a family comes inside, a young boy jumping up and down in glee.
“To work huh?” “To work.”
He winks at Rylan and walks over to the shelter main hall, opening all of the windows, most of the interns have set the tables with drinks and he sets the adoption papers on one of them.

“Oh yes... this part of the day now starts too.”
River smiles as he watches the interaction with Irina and Rylan, unable to deny how good Rylan is with people, this natural charm but also kindness just making him so approachable.
“If it gets too much just signal me and I'll come rescue the moment it gets too much.”
He walks over to Rylan placing a gentle hand over his shoulder.
“It'll be fun. You're a natural, and again. Whenever you're tired, I'll come rescue you. There's always kennels to clean.” “Wait.. there shall be no one left to need said kennels!”
Rylan chuckles, and shakes his head, quickly kissing River, before he walks up to the small group, after the first slight squee he shows them around, much like he hoped, several of them have already picked out an animal or two they want to see.
“Okay.. let's see.. we can start with the dogs, and then we can head to see the cats after.” “Are we allowed to see the familiars too?” “Of course, we can do that first if you want?” “Nah, let's save that for last, I have a dog I want to meet.”
Rylan smiles and nods, he knew the familiars were a bit of a pull for people to just see one.
“Follow me then, and we'll see who goes home with who.”
He waves at Annette and the others from his work, who are helping wherever they are needed, with drinks, food, and filling out papers.
