Okay so i finished far from miklagardr and honestly I loved it but reading it was so weird
Like my brain was trying to apply all the knowledge of how books go and this one just didn't
In general i expected there to be more stuff happening, it was a welcome breath of fresh air to just have a plain slice of life thing but like... gay Vikings, amazing book I recommend it, probably will draw some fabarts at some point
Except there's one thing I can't get over, the fucking ELK
Let me paint the scene for you,
Two main dudes go hunting together, they're distracted because gay and run into a huge ass elk and they say
Wow that's a big elk it's dangerous we should gather a lot of people and hunt it
And I'm thinking oh cool they'll go hunting and maybe that's how Niketas proves himself to some of the villagers, makes sense but they don't really do that... I mean okay that's not the only thing that can happen
Then one year later the gays and their aro ace friend go to ride horses in the forest, the horses get spooked, ARO ace dude eats dirt cause he fell down, gays are like oh no that may be the elk we didn't hunt. ... We should do that at some point... Okay well time to go home but let's take a different route than we all know
And I'm thinking woah they're definitely gonna find the Elk, that's for sure what's gonna happen, and they don't they just... Go home...
And i hope the elk does something or gets a mention in the second book but I don't think so since it takes place somewhere else...
