My continued documentation of the #madisonflood water is highest yet on #lakemonona you can't even see the support structure for the end of the dock at this point, it is deceptively beautiful, I would love to go for an evening swim, maybe next summer. The #madisonflood is still happening, a break in the rain showed a still lake with the beginning of an #algaebloom because of course. While cleaning up #madisonflood garbage on the lake bed, I found a few interesting piece of #driftwood and a piece of #slag certainly a better souvenir then to huge bags of trash and a bucket of recycling. I feel like I only made a tiny dent, still so much to do. #laketreasures

Cleanup after the #madisonflood is going to be a nightmare. So much garbage 😭 the water is still rising.

Ben and I (and a few other people) had to rescue the dock from floating away. The #madisonflood is increasing as the Tenney Dam has been opened to keep it from bursting and we are supposed to get get more rain. I've seen prediction of 5-11 inches of water level increase in the next couple days meaning it's definitely going over the shore. Sandbags ahoy! I ended up going swimming when rescuing the dock... Then immediately showered because flood water is gross 🤢 I also rescued several spiders, retrieved a large bucket, and had to remove a drowned muskrat. It's been an eventful day. Reminds me of hurricane prep when I lived coastal. I swear everywhere I've lived has flood problems! #lakemonona #madison #madisonflood2018 #flood #danecounty
