HM well you could a. slow the frame rate in video playback to be crazy slow so when the comp lags then it's not so much of a problem b. you could transcode the file to be not mkv or c. (this is the easiest way for me when I'm home and don't have the awesomeness of Screen Flow at work) Open the file in Quicktime and Trim/cut it to be whatever part of the video you want to GIF and then export it and import video frames to layers in PS :)

I didn't know you could do this. I love you rn. 

PS: I mean the Quicktime thing.

re VLC problem - are you just holding down alt/option-apple-S for the part you want to screen cap? Bc on my Mac it's working for me - I've never used VLC for capping or frame by frame capture but this seems to work when I just did it

Thanks! I am :(  It's super easy with .avi files but once you use .mkv files the file starts lagging and the screencaps start getting slower, like it takes a screencap every 2 seconds. 

I remember I found a way not long ago but I forgot and now that I finally have a version of Photoshop that can load screencaps into animation I need it again.

yeah handbrake kind of blows. I like mpeg streamclip much more though still big files - why do you need it to be a smaller file size though just wondering?

I'm not interested in dealing with people complaining about the size haha. For some people, downloading 3go is long. God, it's probably going to take me ages just to upload 1go because my internet can only download fast, not upload. 

If it was just me, I would upload the 6go original file and go to sleep. But then I would need to torrent it and I don't feel like it. I don't even know where I will upload the file, most website are too restrictive.

I live in Wisconsin, so yeah.... snow i'm trying to get excited about it

as of things I'm doing recently... well, I am trying to make drawings of old family houses to give out to my aunt and uncles. It won't be on time for x-mas, but eventually they will get them.
