oh so 31 Oct is like OCT(31) which means octal (similar to decimal/binary, but a different base). 25 Dec is like DEC(25) which is decimal. It happens that OCT(31) = DEC(25).

so basically it's just 31 in that base equals 25 in the other???

that's what I thought at first but I wasn't sure if I was missing something

one of my friends who was in kalgoorlie for the past year saw my sidecut last night and said next I’d have my nostrils pierced and industrials lol I don’t even have my ears pierced

nostrils are so standard these days, they're not even that odd to see on people lol to be ~edgy~ with the side cut you could go with a non-standard industrial (there's this guy joeltron who's from perth who does "trondustrials" and fuck they're cool) but obvs you are not planning on doing this and people are just dumb. that shit bugs me.

if it’s any consolation I brought a duffel bag and it was fine, other people took much larger suitcases which seemed way over the top to me.

I'm trying very hard not to be that dick who shows up with twice as much baggage as anyone else but I have no idea what the norm is, so yes that is a consolation.
