Traditional Armenian Easter time cookies! Sweet bread cookies usually shaped in braids or bars.
1 c. madzoon (or plain yogurt)
Mix all ingredients and chill at least 2 hours (overnight is fine, too)
Shape into bars or twists. Remember the thicker your shapes, the more baking time they'll need; if you have thin twists and thick twists on the same pan, the thinner ones will come out harder so keep that in mind when baking.
Spread with egg and sesame seeds.
Bake at 350 for approximately 30 minutes.
Tip: This recipe is great for giving away/sharing because the batch is quite large. These cookies also freeze well and taste great in the microwave, if, say, you have a weakness to cookies that are just sitting around. Or if you just like hoarding your sweets. They also taste great after a few seconds in the microwave.
