hello oomf :] was wondering if there was a specific reason why u hc lucifer as arospec? would you say lucilith share a romantic relationship? (i'm so on board with aro luci we need more rep. to me it feels like they wouldn't define romance as a concept for the most of their relationship, but i'm curious as to what you think)

my headcanon of lucifer being arospec has a lot of facets to it though one of them admittedly is just. projection lmao. all of my blorbos are aromantic in some way, it makes sense

i don't think that lucifer would ever view love in the traditional sense of amatonormativity, considering the fact that when he was created, the concept of gender, sexuality and relationships had never even existed before.

i think that when lucifer and lilith met, it wasn't at all a romantic attraction specifically that brought them together, though romance may have been a possible feeling they felt, but a sense of kinship, of true understanding where both of them finally found someone who thought the same way they did and instead of rejecting them for it, embraced it.

i 100% agree with you that lucilith would just, not define romance as most of their relationship. a part of me wants to say qpr lucilith but i'm also unsure of how well that would even fit them.

it's very much the circumstances of these two that really pulls it all together. they're so unique, both of them had existed during or at least close to the dawn of all creation. they're one of the firsts!! no one's done this before and no one is there to tell them what the heck is supposed to be going on!! the concept of love was still very new at the time when they fell in love with each other. lilith was the first ever woman, and lucifer was an angel, a creature who existed only to serve in heaven. there was no word for it yet. all they knew was that they felt like they belonged together and that they had never felt this way before.

now early post-Fall lucilith, i do still think their mindsets would be very foreign to the average person's. they don't know much of anything yet at this point in time and so the concepts we are familiar with now, to them, were a little skewed, i suppose.

now! when the first sinners arrive in Hell, that's super interesting to me!!! i think i need to make like, the implications of the first sinners arriving in Hell its own post but i digress,,,,

lucilith to me, would have gained much of their knowledge through 1) heavenly meetings, and 2) the sinners with the latter being their main source. they would have learned so much from them either by way of observation (which sounds much more lucifer-like) or by conversing with them (lilith would be more comfortable with this). they would've learned of culture, new inventions and innovations, marriage, sex, etc.

i imagine that lucilith upon hearing of all the different classifications of love that the humans have made, would be intrigued by them but they could never really find one that really fit for them.

i don't think that stating their relationship as purely romantic is even correct, really. while they are romantic, and are platonic, their love would have no real label that would fit them truly. it just wouldn't work.

i do really like the idea of them marrying as a way to just enjoy themselves also. them learning of the concept of marriage? of having a physical and social way to show others that they love each other? and a party? they're doing it. they probably propose to each other like every valentine's day i will not lie

and the religious implications of marriage as well!! it could be them joyfully mocking heaven in their face by marrying each other. there would be a loving union between an angelic being and a human whether people liked it or not.

lucifer in canon being pan also does make sense to me considering his whole thing about not really growing up with the concept of gender and stuff. i imagine that lilith is quite similar to him as she has the same case going on with her. they can be pan and aro and ace. and more. my critters, i don't control them.

asking on behalf of a ton of us who were coerced by the educational system into reading journey to the west, where do you find the charm in the book!

this is a journey to the west ask.... ahhh...... ok under cut time

as someone who read the entirety of all the books willingly on my free time, i'd say the most charming thing about it are the characters....

my very big sun wukong bias aside, although i'm not chinese, with how big of an influence journey to the west has had on a lot of cultures, i grew up watching more than a few films centered around sun wukong growing up, though my memories of them now are hazy at best

namely the one i remember the most of is the Journey to the West (1986 TV series)? and the freshest adaptation in my mind now is the Lego Monkie Kid show

after watching the Lego Monkie Kid show i was like, sort of reminded ig of how much i really liked those characters when i was younger. and then i bought the books and read them all in the span of a few months and they are still now like, on my bookshelf, the blorbos at the back of my mind revolving in a microwave

im going off topic arghhhhh but,,, the characters really are the best part of the books for me. i loooooooove it when they have interesting interactions with each other

one of my favourites that i remember most in my mind is when baigujing was constantly shapeshifting into humans in order to eat tang sanzang and sun wukong kept killing her over and over again, looking at tang sanzang like "PLEASE can you not see how obvious this is already?????"

sha wujing is forever the MVP for calming the situation down every time and i still glare at zhu bajie allllllll the time for convincing tang sanzang that sun wukong had tried to trick him by turning baigujing's "body" into a skeleton. zhu bajie be quiet unless you want sun wukong to leave your ass in another monster's lair

cough. hiii yeah that's basically it i like my jttw critters a lot and they were what got me through most of the really poetry heavy parts of the book. the poetry is fun i will not lie but i know the seasons have passed man, you've told me that a few verses ago. repeatedly

as my dune/house of atreus oomfie, please tell me i'm not delusional for feeling like leto ii/ghanima are somewhat intentional parallels to orestes and electra😭😭 leto & orestes being the ones leaving to grapple with the reins of fate/consequence and ghanima & electra being the fierce and loyal ones staying to remain defiant against where the narrative pushes them, but it's also more of a vibes based thing?? i also thought ghanima and farad'n will have a really similar dynamic to that of electra and pylades,, i'm tempted to give them really similar designs to confuse my future self🧍‍♂️

the fact that in dune, house atreides' ancestors are canonically THE HOUSE OF ATREUS makes me so insane and joyful. my blorbos!! who parallel my other blorbos!! are related!!!!

i love to toy with the implications of the atreus family curse going so far down the line that it even reaches sci fi fascism eras.

the parallels between leto II (ii)/ghanima and orestes/elektra also fit well with paul/alia to me, especially with how alia sees herself in her jessica and jessica in herself, loving her and loathing her for all that she's done

your observations on orestes/elektra and leto II (ii)/ghanima are so spot on with mine,,,,,,

i one hundred percent support your musings to give them similar designs (do it 😈).... i imagine the inherited house of atreus minds in leto's and ghanima's ancestral memories peering through their eyes for a small moment and being horrified at how similar things are and how so much has changed and not changed at ALL
