After his time at Arasaka ended, Vince was in a phase of figuring out where to move next. Jackie wanted to team up as merc duo, but he was reluctant at first. Eventually, in search for some time alone and turning his brain off with the help of loud, angry music, he was drawn to Totentanz. No risk of accidentally running into former coworkers, and he does actually enjoy the music and vibes of the bar.

There, he eventually encountered a Maelstromer going by the name Molotov, and whatever happened between them was just as explosive (but also short-lived and in the grand scheme of things nothing serious).

Their first meeting probably went something like this, where Molotov caught Vince staring at him across the bar or something like it (maybe because of the "Burn Corpo Shit" etched into the back of the Maelstromer's headplate, because at that point Vince was very much still missing his corpo job). Molotov got annoyed by him staring and then even more so because Vince had barely any visible cyberware, was dressed way too fancy, and stood out like a sore thumb against the rest of the usual Totentanz clientele. His annoyance in return was even more intriguing to Vince and he escalated the situation a bit more but also decided to try and flirt with Molotov, because he has no sense of self-preservation sometimes.

This time he was lucky because the Stromer's annoyance was also shifted to intrigue when Vince showed no signs of being intimidated by him at all, and yeah xD They hooked up a couple of times during that time, but when the sense of novelty and riskiness of it all faded, so did the attraction.

But also, this is one of the reasons why in my canon for Vince, he sides with Maelstrom in preparation for the Konpeki heist. He does not like or condone what they do as a gang as a whole, but he is a known regular at their bar and there is a mutual sense of "I'm not gonna mess with you if you don't mess with me" coexistence. Messing up the relationship with Maelstrom would much more negatively impact Vince's life and work in NC than getting on the bad side of one single Militech agent who will be taken care of by her superiors sooner or later with him likely just a sidenote in the report.
