Mass protest and demonstration has broken through out the cities of #Jayapura, #Manokwari, #Sorong, #Timika, #Fakfak, #Kaimana, #Maeruke and across West Papua. Hundreds and thousands of West Papuans have taken to the street in protest against racism and demand an end to Indonesian colonisation. In response, Indonesia has deployed more than 1,000 military personnel (funded by Australian tax dollars and trained on Australian soil) into West Papua. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has blocked internet and communication within West Papua. It is certain that violence and human rights abuses will be escalated.
