Strowill body hcs I've been putting off for months now!

Some more info about them under the cut ↓
Starting with Will, I hc that he can't scar while being made of magla, and would only get his scars (new and old) after merging back with his body, so as far as battle scars go he doesn't have many. The burn scars on his hands are from when he was little and the sanctum burned down. I also like the idea of him having freckles and moles scattered around his body, so I added those.
For Strohl, I don't think he'd come out unscathed from Halia burning, hence the burn scars. As for other scars, he'd have the occasional medium/big scar, but generally they'd tend to be more scraps or small cuts than anything else—the ones on his hands, specifically, are from cooking! The big scar on his chest is from the time he got knocked down by Homo Gorleo at the Northern Border Fort.
In terms of grooming, I think they both shave everything but their pubic hair. Will because he finds it itchy, and Strohl both because he finds it uncomfortable and because his noble upbringing put a lot of importance into appearance, so it stuck with him.
As for how they interact with each other's bodies, I think Strohl would love to kiss Will's moles and freckles, as well as run his fingers (very gently) over the thorn scars as a kind of reminder that, despite everything, Will is still there with him. He'd get super protective if anyone dares to comment on Will's scars in any negative way (Will would be able to cover most of them, but the vines on his arms and the burn scars are trickier to hide when the weather gets hotter). Will would help Strohl cool down when he overheats, running a cold wet rag over the burn scars very lovingly. I also think Will would love to kiss/touch the scar on Strohl's chest, because while he doesn't like seeing him get hurt, it's proof that Strohl has always been willing to protect him, so he's got to let him now how much he appreciates that.
One of my favorites headcanons is that Will loves writing Strohl love letters. He doesn't stop there though, once he gets comfortable and has a bit more experience with writing, he goes and writes whole novels for Strohl to tell him how much he loves him.
And, after they start dating, Strohl keeps finding little love notes on his pockets/bags that Will sneaks there. He also finds pages-long letters carefully placed on his bed at least twice a month.
I also adore the idea of Strohl keeping all the letters and notes and taking extra care with all of them because Will wrote them for him. He rereads them often and handles the pages like they're about to break because he'll die before he lets any page get a single bent corner.
I think he'd also have all the letters organized by date in book-like bundles, one for every year, so Strohl eventually ends up with full rows of letter compilations in his manor's library back in Halia. Because of having so many, he usually keeps only the latest volume with him in the royal palace, and every time he finds himself missing Will, he goes through the letters to help make the wait until he can see him more bearable.
Oi! I saw the metaphor headcanon, and I need to know more!!! What about ceremonys? Like... We know the snakes stuff for mustaris, cremation then burial of ashes to the batlike people that I forgot the tribe name, and partying for paripus, but like... Do you have a HC about customs in weddings, honeymoon birth, and first birthday kind of stuff?
I love this question! I only have wedding related ones, but they're for all tribes, so here you go!!!
To start, one of my headcanons is that getting married by the church is the most common way of marriage when it comes to clemar and roussainte, as well as nobles of any tribe that aren't considered "lesser" or mixed tribe marriages. Common law marriages (like the one Grius and Fabienne have) would be the norm for said groups, since the a Sanctist priest wouldn't marry them.
Clemar traditions depend more on region and family than on their tribe itself, so a clemar that's lived their whole life in Grand Trad might have a completely different set of traditions than one that's been raised in Altabury or Brilehaven. However, there is a specific one that stays consistent: since touching a clemar's horns is something very intimate, letting your spouse put jewelry on them is their way of sealing the marriage. That jewelry is something they keep and always wear just like they do their wedding rings.
For the elda I'm following my own headcanon that they're hunters/gatherers. They exchange weapons during the wedding ceremony: a hunter would receive either a bow or a dagger, while a gatherer would receive some kind of knife. These are especially crafted for the person they're being given to, and more often than not the handle (or wood, if a bow) has a love declaration/vow engraved on it. It's also tradition to do something I've called magla binding, and it would be the actual, traditional way they have to seal the marriage. However, because of its nature, most people do it more symbolically, using rope to fasten the couple's hands together instead of their own magla.
Roussainte men must duel their spouse's family member (usually a father or a brother) to get their hand in marriage. This happens again on the wedding day, right before the ceremony starts, to make sure he's worthy and strong enough to protect his spouse-to-be. If it's two men marrying, both of them would duel each other's family member; if it's two women, the one fighting would be the one who proposed.
Rhoag, because of their long lifespans, have the tradition of planting specifically a fruit or flower tree on their wedding day so it can grow and flourish alongside them. During the first few years of their marriage, the couple takes care of it, and the first time it bears fruit or flowers is taken as a sign to start a family of their own.
The ishkia exchange feathers when they get married; they let their spouse pluck one out of their wings, then that feather is used as a pendant/charm in the spouse's preferred jewelry which they wear instead of wedding rings.
The mustari, at least the ones from Virga Island, have a whole day and whole night wedding. In the morning, with the rising of the sun, the married-to-be couple go together into the forest looking for a stone, flower or seed for each other that will later be made into a necklace, their equivalent of a wedding ring. They must be back to their village by sunset, where the actual ceremony takes place by the fire, in the beach, and is followed by a night of eating and partying until next sunrise comes around.
An eugief tradition, since they're nocturnal, is making a floating lantern with their spouse. Weddings are celebrated at night, and the couple would light and release the lantern to seal the marriage; if the lantern floats, it means they'll have a healthy and happy marriage. After the actual wedding ceremony, the newlyweds glide together and show off their abilities to each other while the sun rises.
For the paripus weddings are a multiple day affair. Lots of partying, dancing and feasting, and a lot of time to enjoy the company of friends and family. The couple performs a dance for their spouse, sometimes with other people as secondary dancers and sometimes alone, but either way it's a dance choreographed specifically for the person they're marrying. After this, the couple dances together.
And to finish it: the nidia show their spouse their true form whenever they get a moment alone after the wedding (I know Junah specifically says that no one but their own biological parents ever see a nidia's true form, but I'm deciding to ignore that for this because I think it would be cute ^-^').
I have this headcanon that Strohl has a pretty good singing voice, and quietly sings and/or hums songs to Will once they're cozy and comfortable in bed after they retire for the night. I think it helps them both fall asleep; at the beginning as a method of calming down after the journey and stress of getting used to their new jobs, and after that because it's so ingrained into their routine that they can't sleep without it.
Will on the other hand, while not awful at it, I think would have a pretty average voice when it comes to singing even though it's still pleasant to listen to. Strohl sometimes catches him humming to himself when he's distracted or really focused on anything that is not work. He listens in for as long as he can go unnoticed because Will doesn't do it often, and Strohl is always happy to hear his voice.
This took me so long to answer I'm so sorry OTL I just have a lot of headcanons and ideas about them so it was very hard to choose what to say here. If someone wants to know my hcs about a specific topic with those two (or about anyone/anything else really) feel free to shoot me an ask and I'll do my best to answer (⌒▽⌒)♡
Starting with Halia's rebuilding, I think Will would be such an important emotional support for Strohl, being there for him both when Strohl needs him and when he doesn't, helping with everything he can. Thanks to that, I think Halia would take around a year/year and half to rebuild, because both Strohl and the townsfolk are working extremely hard to make it so and the king is supporting them fully.
The day Halia's rebuilding is finished, Strohl finally breaks down on the privacy of his newly standing house and Will, who's there with him as he always is, stays with him. Once Strohl calms down, they spend the rest of the day together in the manor, Will happily listening to Strohl reminisce about his parents and childhood and how the village used to be.
I think it's Will that proposes to Strohl, and that they get married when Will is 20 (and Strohl 23 since I hc he's 3 years older), and that they have two weddings. The first one is their actual wedding, a small ceremony in Halia with the townsfolk and their close ones, where they don't have to worry about politics or keeping up appearances. The second one is the more public one, a proper royal wedding that's more politics and a show for the people than anything else, that they agreed to do in exchange for having a wedding before it that was truly theirs and how they wanted it.
Another hc I have is that Will makes little doodles of Strohl on the margins of his manuscripts while he writes his novels. Only Strohl knows about them, because the first draft of his novels is reserved for only him; Will showing him his unpolished work ends up becoming a bit of a tradition that they never break. Every time Will finishes the first draft of a novel, Strohl makes sure to do something nice for him (sometimes taking him on a day-long date, sometimes buying him a gift).
Here are some more post-canon hcs I have about them!
Been thinking that I'd give a try at sharing some of my metaphor hcs in here bc it looks really fun...
Starting with the Elda, I hc that they speak Japanese to this day, so they learn both jp and Esperanto growing up. Because of that I think that, post merge, Will would remember the japanese he'd learned as a child and would sometimes speak in jp to the party and followers while they just look at him like ??? because they don't understand a single word. I also think that all of them, the party especially, would start to learn how to speak it (Will teaches them!) so they can understand Will when he switched to jp for whatever reason.
I think Eupha would pick it up the quickest bc, being a mustari (who I hc can read what Japanese has survived in the Malnova Archipelago, though not *speak* it), she's the only other person who's had contact with the language before. That said, I think the most dedicated would be Hulkenberg and Strohl; Hulkenberg because she sees it as a potential way of keeping Will safe because very little people understand the language so it would give them an advantage to talk and ask for help with people around if needed, and Strohl for the same + because he's whipped and no way in hell he's missing Will's excited rants (where he switches to jp unconsciously) about whatever new book he's read or person he's met.
And as a sprinkle of strowill in here, I think Will would say sentences or words to Strohl in Japanese while he's leaning (very romantic/cheesy things) and Strohl then would memorize/write down whatever he said so he can eventually know what Will said. Then proceeds to melt to the floor in a very endeared puddle of goo when he's finally able to understand it because he loves his boyfriend/husband very much <3
I might also share some of my strowill aus instead of hogging them all to myself and the two friends I yap about them to if anyone's interested in hearing about them ^-^
If you read this far thank u for listening to my ramblings, hope you enjoyed them! Have a doodle of the party studying together as a gift <3
