-Jon explains to Martin why he had to kill Helen
-Martin admits that Helen was a bit suspicious
^wow you don't say. the embodiment of lies was suspicious
-Martin says he was a bit jealous of real Helen for bonding with Jon so quickly and easily
-Basira's out there 'in a labyrinth of masks'
-they're about to enter London
-and it's very Eye
~domain description~
-what if there were cameras everywhere and everyone was watching and judging you. how would you feel about that.
--end of description--
-Jon's like ok story time is over :) hey cameras why are you still here?
^as if he's not the world's Most Important Guy
Re listening to tma again bc of course and…maybe it’s just having been the foreign kid in a new school so many times but mag 188 is freaking me out.
today i showed my latest sketch to my art professor, and he immediately went like "wow! there's almost a feeling of like suffocation in this drawing, like the feeling of being watched. it's really cool that you thought of that concept so early on for this project!" and me just sitting there, holding this goddamn MAG 188 inspired fanart like- yeah yeah, i was totally the one who thought of that concept!! who even is jonny sims lmaooo
(for reference, this is the funky lil guy who i'll be painting for the next few months hihihih)
did something with a photo I took (photo info below line)
Seems like Jon and Martin are wondering the same things I was regarding Helen. I guess Jon summed it up well: she did want to be friends, she just didn't want to be a good friend. Interesting insight as to why Jon seemed to care for the original Helen so quickly, I feel like it puts a lot of his anger towards the Distortion for taking her into a different light. And I guess it makes the parallels between them a little sadder. Jon thought that maybe if he could help her, maybe his paranoia wouldn't get the better of him. but then it did, and him and Helen unwillingly became part of entities that completely changed them. Which makes me wonder: Jon said it was hard to tell how much of the original Helen was left. How much of the original Jon is left? He's been struggling to hold onto his humanity for a really long time and this apocalypse is not helping. How much longer until he's too far gone? What would tip him over the edge?
Ooo, lots of sound effects in this one, totally ups the creepy factor. If episode 186 felt like my depression, this one felt like my anxiety. I struggle with some of the same stuff: feeling like everyone's depending on me and feeling like such a disappointment when I mess up, hating that feeling of being perceived and just wanting to fade into the background. I know Jon has said in the past that the Eye and the Lonely aren't too far apart, but in this instance, it feels like they're opposites, like the Vast and the Buried. With the Eye, everyone's attention is on you. With the Lonely, nobody is paying attention to you at all.
