“Oh piss off, it’s our wedding! This is the one time we’re allowed to be disgustingly in love!” Simon protests. Warmth blooms in my chest at his protectiveness.

“It’s not your wedding yet! I still have to kill you first!” she argues. Simon shoots me a panicked look.

“She’s joking,” I say. “Probably.”
