Dear Author, pray tell, just where is the waitress in the restaurant of the ch 5 of OP Mage MC familiar from?The Mage intern from the first chapter perhaps?
Frankly I have spent way to long thinking about this fic so here are my theories.
The whole new mage/intern program in the beginning could have been a set up by someone in power to get more of their people in the circle and closer to the monsters and those around monsters. Someone in power being responsible for the disappearances would also explain why is has been overlooked so far, easy to wave off and keep hush hush when you have the authority.
Now the main reason: Why? Note sure to be honest, but I am guessing that is could be lust for power, monsters are made of magic so if there is a way to extract it from them I imagine it would be quite valuable.
As for the humans… I'm not sure, maybe seeing if they could combine humans and monsters into one, of if humans exposed to monsters are more easy to train in magic.
Then there is the whole rift in the timeline and other universes monsters spilling into the one our dear MC is in. Is that connected? Is it relevant to the plot at all? Personally i don't have a preference as I can see it both ways.
All in all I have been enjoying the fic and I'm sure that whatever you are cooking is great, can't wait to read more, but please do remember to rest and drink water ok?
Hey hey! Omg I had such a blast seeing this in my inbox you have no idea.
Now, unfortunately Im not gonna be able to say much - only thing i can say is that youre close. Not sure if you guys have noticed this but Im the type of author that loves foreshadowing, I also love keeping everything connected, but the thing i love most of all when writing is making full use of the fact that you as the reader cant really connect the dots if i as the author dont spell em out.
For example - that waitress in ch 5, who is she? How does MC recognize them? Is it by their appearance? Is it their voice? Is MC just confusing them for someone else?
I love the sort of writing that doesnt spell things out for its readers, so i tend to put that on paper whenever i do write.
Not sure if that tells you much about the story, but it wouldnt be fun if i just told you, rest assured ill reveal the mystery when the time comes lmao.
Also! This is just a suggestion but, if you like Mage MC and the overpowered sort of capable MC’s in general - then i recommend checking out my fic “The Fairytale and The Abyss” - spoilers! The MC for that one is a wolf in sheep’s clothing kinda character - literally, so if youre into that its on AO3 here!
