I caught up for a short interview with the managing director of Progressive Entertainment in London Mr. Irvin Smith, to find out what he had been getting

Up too recently?

What do you hope to accomplish in the next six years as the managing director of Progressive Entertainment?

In the next six years I would like to accomplish a legacy and expand in a more stable life style events in terms of our packages and events like Poetry in Motion, Spanish Harlem, Comedy and Cut for companies in and around London on a more global base.

What do you like best about yourself?

What I like best about my self is my determination.

Your Spanish Harlem events, what three course meal would you recommend for a guest visiting your event for the first time?

We offer a poultry option, stake option, fish option and vegetarian option. It really depends on what the guest prefers, but without a doubt I very much like the poultry option as I enjoy eating the chicken dish.

What do you do to relax, when you are not being the Managing Direction of Progressive Entertainment?

I am a big Arsenal supporter. I love football. I hold a seasonal ticket for Arsenal football grounds and I often go along to watch live football. This relaxes me very much when I am not working at Progressive Entertainment. I also enjoy NFL football from America and I watch a lot of it.

In your opinion what’s the best piece of accessory on a lady?

The best piece of accessory on a lady is her smile, as a smile is very natural and not artificial.

What has been your biggest challenge as the managing director of Progressive Entertainment?

My biggest challenge as the managing director of Progressive Entertainment has been proofing myself to the establishment and the events that Progressive Entertainment has put on for the last five years building a company from scratch. My business partner and I had neither knowledge nor a background in this type of business, but just having sheer determination to make it work and it was also difficult as I knew very little about London, but my business partner and I were able to build a business through a hand branded marketing and the biggest challenge was trying to get the establishment to back us. I think had we been a British company or had a British partner I believe we would have had it easy and twice as nice.

If you were stranded on a “Desert Island” what four items would you take with you?

If I was stranded on a “Desert Island” the four items I would like to take with me are, fishing net, two women and a water de-salt/purifier.

Two of my favourite’s poets are Langston Hughas and Taalam Acey.

What has made you cry in the last year?

I was watching a movie, that made me cry but I cannot remember the name of the movie.

Your Poetry in Motion Events, could you please name two of the famous poets that has attended your event lately?

Two of the famous poets that have attended our Poetry in Motion Events lately were Tfhaka Campbell and Taalam Acey.

Would your company in the future ever consider opening a similar lifestyle events and packages for the West Africa countries?

“Yes” In the future Progressive Entertainment would like to hold similar lifestyles events packages for the West Africa market.

What is your favourite colour of socks to wear?

My Favourite colour of socks to wear is black.

What do you long to tell your children when you have them?

I do have children and I would love to say to my children practice makes perfect.

If you were a colour what colour would you be and why?

I would be Brown, because that is the colour of my skin.

If you were a biscuit, which would you be?

I will be a chocolate chip cookie.

Would you consider yourself a romantic person?

“Yes” I would say I am a romantic man.

If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and what would you say to them?

It will have to be my grandfather, as he died before I was born, and I will just love to have a conversation with him.

What’s your favourite Art Gallery in London?

I am not really into a lot of art, but I would say I like the Tate Modern, as I have visited a few times.

Name two of your favourite music that you listen to quite often on your MP3/ I-Pod Personal Player?

Nothing that comes to mind that I can think off, Is over my head.
