Thank you so much for your kind words on my post. It feels really good finally admitting it out loud (well, online really lol). I'm still scared about coming out to people in my personal life, I think I want to wait to figure things out some more first. The annoying thing is that I know my parents can sense something is up with me because I haven't been as happy or enthusiastic (I'm normally a pretty positive person) but I don't want them to know yet. This is such a hard/frustrating time :(

No problem! I’m always happy to help out a fellow aroace. I can definitely your uncertainty about coming out (If I remember correctly, it took me months to come out to my family and friends), but I can offer some advice. Is there a recent event you can use to your parents? For example, if school just got out you could say you’re a little sad you won’t be able to see some of your friends, or you could say you’re stressing about finals/other events…Just whatever works for you, really. That’s whatever I do if something is up and I don’t want my family to know about it.

For now, I would suggest not going on the aro or ace tags too much. There’s been a lot of The Discourse™ lately, so right now it’s really best to surround yourself with positivity, like finding positivity blogs for aroaces, and if you need someone to talk to, I’m here, too! Do whatever makes you happiest, really. Hope things get better for you!
