Seriously, I haven't stopped thinking about the implications of the Magic Lover pilot.
In this universe, at some rate, three witches are chosen to go to the mortal realm and they have to find their respective soulmate. If you thought that sounded perfectly simple, especially considering the magic drops them off near their soulmate, then you are wrong because not only do these witches have to find their soulmate they have to FUCK them too. Considering the main dudes mother seems to be alone implies the old nail them and bail them, which I can only assume is because they need their soulmate's seed to get pregnant and produce more witches.
There is no option to opt out too, because if the witches don't suceed in their mission they are destined to a life of being a familar which is basically telling a bunch of people "get impregnated by your soulmate or turn into a furry magic slave for the rest of your life".
This is so fucked up on multiple levels, I don't even know where to begin-
What happens if a witch is asexual or aromantic? I assume in the aromantic case they aren't chosen by the ritual, but is the asexual supposed to be doomed from the start because they may have a romantic soulmate but not in a sexual capacity? Is this implying no witch is asexual or aromantic? That doesn't sound very queer friendly and ally of you Domundi.
What if a witch has a fear of pregnancy or simply doesn't want kids? There seems to be no option to opt out without being doomed to magic servitude so...?
What happens to the soulmate after the witches nail and bail? Do they walk around with a chunk carved out of their heart for the rest of their life because their one true person showed up and dipped?
If the soulmates do get to come with, then what will they do? They have no magic, and most housework is done by magic so do they just lay around and wait for their partner to ride their dick?
What is the process for lesbian witches if this ritual seems to be for reproductive purposes? Do they cast a spell on their partner to make them grow a dick or other phallic part? Does the witch grow the dick or other phallic part? Or is this all done through transplanting cum into a womb? In the event the witch does have to grow a dick, does that mean their partner has to go through pregnancy for nine to ten months while the witch fucks off before returning and stealing the baby? If so, does this means their soulmate has to live with their other half disappearing from their life and kidnapping their child too???
Are all familiars in this universe witches who failed the pump and dump challenge? Does this mean their soulmate is still out there or has died before they met or could possibly position themselves in a way to get with them? Are some of these familiars familiars by choice because they knew they didn't have any other option?
Jimmy's character is set up to Ohm's character soulmate, so does that mean some of the familiars are doomed from the start because their soulmate wasn't born of their era?
