Kiel had read about the different gods and goddesses as a child. At one point he may have even believed in them as well as the dragons. But now he wasn't so sure what was true and what wasn't. With difficulty, he had cut his favorite line from his favorite book. He hoped the goddess would understand the meaning behind it. He stood at the edge of the lake and closed his eyes, wishing for spring to end and the dangers to stop. ["Death is cold as ice. But life and light will always warm the soul."]
Celestia picked up the scrap of paper. It had been a long time since her pool had been this active. She blinked. Ice… Yes, he may be cold, but I still love him. Some of the effect of the message had been lost due to her fixation on the word ‘ice,’ but she still got the gist. Dipping her pen in the multi-colored ink, she wrote a small response.
‘Rally your friends. I cannot directly help you, only encourage you to do what you feel is right. If you want change, you must make it yourself.’
She dropped the strip of paper back into the pool, only hoping that it would reach the correct person.
