Wow, snow || @Gretel
Gretel smiled at the girl. “That’d be a good idea.” she said. “Or, you could also bring souvenirs back home from your trip and give them to everyone as presents. And Then next time you can go together with your friends, ja?”
Placing a hand on Amber’s head she ruffled the small butterfly girl’s green locks. “Hehe, Danke sweetie. I think you look very spicy too.”
The girl was odd, but Gretel liked her, and her strange compliments.
"Thank you!" Amber giggled before looking at Gretel curiously.
"Souvenirs," she repeated, mentally assessing the word. What was the origin of souvenirs anyway? It sounded incredibly foreign, especially to Amber's eardrums. The concept was strange as well. Taking an object from its motherland seemed very invasive.
"Would flowers work? Do you have flowers? Your flowers are different from my flowers, right?" She seemed to brighten at the prospect of feasting her eyes on colored petals and stems. Amber's mouth didn't water. That wouldn't be polite.

Dear Diary... (2/16/2014)
I hope spring comes soon.
I don't like being cold.
Taped to the door of the flower shop was a small bunch of flowers with white ribbon wrapped around them. The note attached was in orange ink.
Happy Harmony Day, Amber! Keep smiling!
-Kiel
She read the note as she smelled the flowers. Amber could taste them later. A smile grew on her face. How sweet of Kiel, she thought, hoping they would go well with honey or juice.
Oh No... ||Amber and Kiel
When Amber approached Kiel let out a small sigh of relief. He smiled a bit weakly. He was hurt. Badly.
"Nothing, nothing," he waved off the questions a bit. "I’m okay. I just got into a little fight with a monster is all." He walked slowly, trying to reassure her. "Though I wouldn’t say no to help," he admitted with a nod.
Why he went off alone he wasn’t completely sure, bot now he was regretting it. He hoped she just took him to the flower shop so he didn’t have to face anyone at home. He hoped nobody saw them on the way. He wasn’t sure how he was going to explain this.
"A monster?" she asked. Her frown only deepened as she imagined Kiel getting beat up by a giant squid with mighty arms and legs. "That's horrible!"
Amber took Kiel's arm over her shoulder and invaded his personal space. "I'll help you to Nancy and Jones. They should be able to help, right?" She gave him an assuring smile. Her wings appeared and with a heave she tried to lift up Kiel and fly to town. She puffed and strained herself, only to find she has little physical strength and she couldn't even lift the boy up an inch.
"Well, I guess we can walk there." Amber's smile didn't fade, though she seemed just a bit sad with her failure to fly with Kiel.
Oh No... ||Amber and Kiel
Kiel flinched as he slowly made his way back into the city. He hurt all over. He had a horrible run in with one of the tougher enemies in the dungeons and lost.
He limped slowly, not really wanting to get back home. Bado had warned him many times before not to go off alone or go to dungeons he wasn’t ready for and this is what happened. He tasted blood in his mouth and he made a face. Bitter. He thought he stopped the bleeding from that.
He paused at the side of the road and leaned against the fence. God it hurt and he would not take anymore bitter medicine. He tried to relax a bit. He didn’t want to face anyone right now, although Nancy would probably just tease him and that was that.
He let out a sigh, trying to clean himself up a bit before he got home. Hopefully Forte was still on patrol and he could shower and fix himself up a bit.
Amber hummed happily and admired the grass as she walked along the road. She intended to gather some flower seeds and return home in time for dinner. Those plans grew wings and flew out the metaphorical window when she spotted a figure in the distance. Her curiosity won against her need for seeds and she changed her course.
Approaching the figure, she became close enough to realize it was Kiel and he seemed to be in distress or downtrodden. Amber increased her pace. "Kiel!" She called out, nearing him.
She stopped when she was in front of him. Amber looked over his person with a frown, noticing he seemed roughed up. "Are you okay?" she asked. "What happened, Kiel? I can help you get back to town!"
The Taste of Defeat || Doug, Amber & Felicity
Felicity was probably more bummed out then her team mates since she was hunched over the table with her face buried into her arms. It took a lot to keep her from crying, but a few tears managed to slip out here or there. Both Doug and Amber have been talking so she decided to finally wipe her face with a napkin then sat back to smile at both of them. This was her time to shine with her cheerful attitude— even if it was fake for the time being. “Yeah! Maybe they cheated because I thought we did really well…” Her words trailed off into silence since she almost regretted them, it felt wrong to belittle the opposing team and it felt worse because she was blaming herself for their loss.
"Oh well…" she started off with a sigh before shaking her head, "Amber’s right. There’s always next time so cheer up, Doug~!" Things seemed a lot less awkward after going through so much with these two strangers. Knowing them for just a few hours seemed like a life-time to her since they put their hearts and souls into this Cooking Festival— She did at least. "How about a round of milkshakes or maybe even a cake to get our minds off of this?"
Doug was as disheartened as his teammates, but tried to keep it together. He sure wasn’t going to go crying about it. “Yeah, well, who cares about cooking, anyway? That’s for sissies.” He nodded vigorously at Felicity’s suggestion. “Yeah, bet they did cheat! Ha, freaking assholes!”
Even with all his bravado, Doug couldn’t help but feel, as he looked at the gloomy faces of the girls, that he’d let them down. He might not care about this type of thing but it sucked that they’d all had to go down together. “Yeah, I could go for that. I’ll buy,” he replied to Felicity, hoping that if he paid then it would negate the reproach they probably felt towards him.
Amber perked up at the mention of cake or milkshakes. Her smile unwavered itself and became not wavering. Amber's previous sadness about their team losing was gone and replaced by excitement for sweets.
"I want honey in mine! Honey and toyherb! They have that here, right?" Amber didn't see a reason why they wouldn't serve honey and toyherb milkshakes. "Oh, maybe we should practice for next time! Let's make sure we can win!"
Wow, snow || @Gretel
Gretel smiled. “Ah. it must’ve been fun then, Ja?”
She couldn’t help but laugh at the word “spicy”. “Spicy huh? I’ve never heard that used as something to describe how someone dresses.” She sat down on the floor and shook her head, amused.
Then the Amber said her parents were gone.
"o…oh…" Every thing got really quiet for a moment, as an awkwardness found it’s way into Gretel’s house.
She was happy that the girl was quick to change subjects. “Yes. This is my home. Thank you.” she took another sip of her drink and tossed one more log into the fire. “So what made you come here?” she asked with a smile.
Amber just shrugged and kept on smiling. "I don't know," she said. "I just felt like it, I guess." Suddenly she frowned, staring in to the liquid inside her cup that had become an abyss of deep, hidden emotion and chocolate. "I didn't tell anyone I was leaving. I hope no one worries about me..."
Her frown disappeared as quickly as it came. "I'll just go back before anyone notices I'm gone." Assured her logic was perfect and sound, she nodded to herself and regarded Gretel with curiosity.
"You look very spicy," she complimented Gretel. With a very carefree smile, she sipped from the cup of abyssal, emotional chocolate and hummed a tune to herself.

" Yeah, yeah." Dylas rolled his eyes at the comment. How should he know anything about flowers in the first place? Well he knew which ones to eat in the wild but that was about it. " They could be white or purple. But the ones that are best to cook are white. I haven’t…smelt them before. In fact, I’ve never had any before."
Amber frowned and furrowed her brow. Obviously Dylas wasn't privy to flowers as she was. What kind of life was Dylas living without knowing the smell or taste of Angelica flowers. Did Dylas not pursue the the life ambition of tasting all the flowers? "Well, I don't think we have those in stock." Though she didn't commit the list of flower species they kept in stock to memory as she should have, Amber was willing to bet they didn't keep Angelica flowers around. "We'll have to collect this flower ourselves! It's sunny. Do you know where they grow?"
Wow, snow || @Gretel
"Nice to meet you then, Amber." The Blonde smiled at the butterfly child. "Airship? What’s that?" was it like an airplane? She heard of them but hadn’t exactly been on one before…
it’s not like there was an airport around here anyway.
Gretel sipped at her own cup of hot cocoa, used to drinking hot things from all the coffee she had to drink to stay awake in the morning. (especially on hangover days). “Ah…You should dress more warmly in the winter, sweetie.” She chided.
Hah, like she was one to talk.
"So where are you from? And…Are your parents with you? Do they know where you are?" she asked, obviously thinking amber was a wee child like the village kids. They’d probably get along anyway.
"Yeah, it's like an airship!" She smiled. "It dropped me off here! I took a trip, you see..." she trailed off without intending to continue.
She frowned when Gretel said she should dress more warmly. "But, I like my clothes." She spared a glance down at herself then looked back up at Gretel. "I think I look spicy."
The humor died in her eyes as she stared at Gretel blankly.
"My parents are gone."
Amber decided to try another sip of the hot chocolate. She found the hot chocolate at a moderate temperature. It wasn't as hot as it was before. Somehow the hot chocolate cooled down into an acceptable degree within that little time. Amber absently thought that the hot chocolate would be better with some mint.
"Is this house yours? It's warm. I like it!"

" Angelica flowers. Have you heard of those?" The horse-man stepped inside to look around the selection, he found a lot of colorful flowers but the one in particular he was looking for was rather bland looking. " They go well with fish. I think they look a bit… puffy. "
"Puffy," she repeated. "A lot of flowers are... puffy, Dylas." She waved her finger at him, silently scolding him for not being specific enough. Wow, didn't this horse know anything about flowers? Amber's about to school this horse on flowers and puffiness.
"What color are Angelica flowers? What do they smell like?"
Wow, snow || @Gretel
Gretel smiled and let out a small giggle. “of course it’s hot silly.” She bent down and patted the girl on the head. “I’m Gretel. What’s your name?” she asked, “Did you get lost? Why were you face down in the snow all by yourself?” She continued, wondering why such a young girl was wandering about on her own.
"My name is Amber!" Her pout turned into a smile, ignoring her burnt tongue. "I didn't get lost," she said. "I took the airship here--well, not to this house exactly..." Amber's smile wavered as she relived the moments before she woke up in Gretel's house. "I don't know... It was cold." She frowned, looking vaguely concerned for the current temperature.
Do you have a favourite insect? Which one?
Of course. Butterflies are my favorite!

Her smile seemed to have a bit of an frightening aura around it. Looking back to the outdoors,he commented. ” Well yeah, it’s a pretty nice day at this time of the year.” Dylas faced the girl’s direction, eyes downcast on to her. He naturally looked terrifying himself, but that smile was too much for him. ” Actually I’m here to buy some flowers, I won’t take long. ” He felt to need to add. ” For cooking. “
"All flowers taste good!" Well, some were poisonous, but that was irrelevant. "Do you want a specific flavor or texture? Maybe I can help!" She stepped away from the door and Dylas and gathered fire flowers and pink cats in her hands. "Do you want spicy or juicy?" She continued to smile as she stared at Dylas. Amber hoped she would helpful to the horse-faced man.
Wow, snow || @Gretel
Gretel heard the high voice of the girl she had saved and walked out of the kitchen. “Oh Good. You’re awake.” she gave the girl a smile that seemed rather motherly and held out a mug of hot cocoa. “Do you like hot chocolate?” she asked, looking down at her.
The girl seemed to be wearing some sort of butterfly costume. It seemed really cute on her, but not quite appropriate for winter. Maybe she was younger than she looked and just really liked wearing it?
"Oh, yes!" Amber smiled brightly at the stranger, gratefully taking the mug of hot chocolate. "Thank you!" She eagerly took a small sip of hot chocolate, only to wince after the liquid burned her tongue. She pouted and held the mug away from her face.
"It's hot," she said. Somehow she didn't expect hot chocolate to actually be hot. Her mind had flew off into the great void beyond when the stranger offered her hot chocolate.
