[Translations] StarMyu S3 DVD Vol. 3 Special Comments
I forgot to post these!!! S3 DVD actually has these creator’s comments on the special booklet for the limited edition~! It’s a cute and insightful look into the process that was going on in their minds specially when they wrote the songs for the episodes~!
And so, since this is DVD Vol. 3, the songs they had comments for were for “FIND OUT” and “REFLECTION” (for Episode 5) and “Magic Time Maker” (for Episode 6)! The comments really just make one appreciate the thought that went into these songs~~!
After this will be the translations for the special character interview for this volume~! Please look forward to them as well ^^

「FIND OUT MUSIC STAFF COMMENT」

A transcendental melody that aims to catch the wind is exactly what the two of them are. The key points of the song were how far we went with showing how Kitahara-kun and Nanjo-kun were characters who didn’t show what they were feeling towards each other. How they both have different personalities and all that. Specially Nanjo-kun because in a way, he’s a very complicated character, isn’t he? It might be difficult to figure out his character.
The features of their not-so-direct friendship and feelings, their hidden purity… I want everyone to please [FIND OUT] about them by listening to the song!

「REFLECTION MUSIC STAFF COMMENT」

They were two characters who were different from the other StarMyu characters. We wanted to make a song where you wouldn’t be able to tell what their daily lives were, but I think we sort of went too far into it~ (laughs) We’ve been making use of songs for the past three seasons, but I was honestly very surprised to realize that it looked like we planned the songs [FIND OUT and REFLECTION] to be connected from the beginning! Just like they say in the song, even if they don’t take shortcuts, the both of them will be able to reflect on what they both want to make way for a future they both desire. That’s the feeling this song carries, yes.

「Magic Time Maker MUSIC STAFF COMMENT」

I think that this song is the embodiment of a song that Irinatsu wrote for his kohais without knowing what they had in mind for it. He only knew of how passionate they were and so put those feelings into a song. Just like magic being cast, he used words that really suited the theme of the song but without making it seem a bit too fantasy-centric. He made it for people who don’t know how to give up on their dreams so, I hope that everyone listening will feel that, too!

Just for those who didn’t know, Mutsumi Sumiyo-san and Kumano Kiyomi-san are both songwriters for the series, having worked on most of the S1, S2 and S3 songs for the series~! ^^
