Ü your muse walks in on my muse naked
Hel officially hated the showers at Auradon. In the first place, they were either scalding hot or freezing cold, and the water either dribbled out or practically assaulted you from above. Even the showers at the Isle had been better than this, which Hel found highly suspicious. Part of her— a very large part, admittedly— suspected that they purposefully gave villains’ children crappy showers. And in the second place, there was only one shower per room, and Hel’s roommate had been hogging theirs for the past half hour.
Which was why Hel had broken into her older brother’s room and commandeered his shower. She knew he was most likely out attempting to woo some unlucky girl, so she figured he wouldn’t be back in time to catch her. So when she stepped out of the bathroom, towelling her hair, and stark naked, she didn’t expect to see Orion Loup sitting on her brother’s bed. He caught sight of her, and leapt to his feet awkwardly. “I - I - um -” he stammered, and it was obvious how his eyes flicked over her body quickly before determinedly looking away. “I was just waiting for -”
Finally, Hel had the sense to clutch the towel to her body, covering herself up. Heat was rising in her cheeks, and she could feel her heart thudding against her chest. A strange concotion of fury and a desire to laugh was bubbling in her chest. The ends of her hair briefly caught fire, only to sputter out as her mind waged war with itself. She knew she had no right to be angry. It was she who was the intruder, she who was the heartbreaker. In fact, he was the who who should be mad.
“Get out,” she finally managed to say, pointing at the door as blue flames danced uncertainly across her fingers. “Get out!” He obliged only too willingly, and Hel sat down hard on a nearby chair, trying to catch her breath and not quite sure what the feeling fill up her chest and making her heart ache was.

“I give up,” Helene announced, falling back on the worn-down couch next to Orion and throwing up her arms in defeat. “I officially give up. I know Aris got me my birthday present already. He keeps pretending like he’s forgotten that my birthday’s tomorrow, but I know he hasn’t, so that means he’s hidden it and doesn’t want me looking for it. Right?” She glanced towards her boyfriend for confirmation, but he said nothing, looking like he was struggling to fight back a smile.
Hel rolled her eyes. “You can tell me I’m right. I can’t find it, anyway. I’ve looked all over the house, and the underworld, and I’ve even bribed Charon.” She looked over at Orion now, who had failed at fighting back a smile and was now grinning broadly. “Wait,” she said slowly, narrowing her eyes at him. “You know where it is, don’t you?” He said nothing, although his grin widened, silently confirming her accusation.
A devious smirk crept across her face, and she reached out to tuck a dark curl behind his ear, purposefully letting her finger trail down his jawline. “You know, you haven’t given me my birthday present yet,” she murmured, leaning closer and letting her lips tickle his ear. In a flash, she was straddling him, pushing him back into the couch. “It’s a very important birthday, you know. Eighteen years old.” Her fingers trailed down to his hips, sliding up under his shirt delicately. “I’ll be all grown up.” She dropped a tantalizing kiss on his lips lightly before moving her attention to his collarbone.
Her hands crept steadily faster up his shirt, until she was pushing it over his head. But just as he was raising his arms to help her, she caught his wrists in her hands, pinning him down on the couch and sitting back in satisfaction. “So, care to tell me where my dear brother hid my present?” she asked, an eyebrow cocked and a pleased smirk on her face. She could feel the rumble of him laughing underneath her, and she couldn’t help but laugh too, the vibrations running up her body and tickling her ribs.
A small part in the back of her mind voiced some wordless worry at how fast her heart was beating, as it always did when she was with him, but she pushed it down, ignoring how it got louder day after day. Today she was happy. Today, she could relax.
