i've realized that many people (mainly people who have been following me for a few months) don't know what the fuck a magicami is, even though it is one of my fandoms/interests, and i occasionally am inspired to theme my blog on it.
what the fuck is a magicami???
Magicami (or Magicami DX, if you're playing the nsfw version) is a turn-based rpg where you assemble a team of 4 magical girls that assist you in taking down demons appearing from a realm called the "Flux". You, yourself, are Tobio Hakari, a teenager simply minding his own business when suddenly he awakes in a white room and is greeted by a mysterious and young looking girl (called Kamisaman) who tells him that he needs to pilot a catlike blob called "Omnis" and recruit magical girls from the safety of the room.
Tobio is confused, but obliges, meeting both Iroha Asobe and Kaori Tomonaga when he first traverses down to earth as Omnis. Both the girls are able to see him, unlike everyone else at their highschool, and Kamisaman butts in to tell Tobio that they are able to become magical girls, and that he needs to convince them to do so. Their phones give off a message, asking them "Do you believe in limitless possibility?" to which they are confused and question what the message means.
Blah blah, they accidentally enter the realm of the Flux, and are standing face-to-face with a handful of demons, to which Omnis (Tobio) advises them to accept the message given by their phones earlier, causing them to transform into magical girls.
The rest of the game's story follows in a similar vein, with 12 girls in total being recruited from 3 different highschools.
The cast of girls consist of:
and each character has their own dresses, which can be equipped, leveled up, and etc.
In terms of gameplay, it is a bit repetitive, yet the team set up is kind of interesting. Whether or not you've already unlocked a girl story wise, if you have a dress of a character, that dress can be equipped into your party, and you can add sub-dresses, which can give a party strength bonus.

So now the question is, does this game center around h-scenes, and is it enjoyable without the hent@! aspect as a whole? To answer that, no and yes respectively. The game is popular in adult game territory for having very high-quality scenes and being fully voice acted, but the game is still both playable and enjoyable without the scenes! One thing i absolutely love about magicami is how you can play either the nsfw version or the sfw, non-smutty version, and your save data is shared across both!
The game also has many many other aspects, the biggest one being the gacha (which does not require in-app purchases/real life money unless you choose to do so) where you can pull dresses and power-up orbs to your heart's content.
So should you give magicami a try? Definitely! Take it from me, as someone who is not at all interested in that kind of content, it's a fairly enjoyable game without it.
