Everyone, Hermanubis. Hermanubis, everyone. Isn’t he handsome?
He’s been doing the appearing/re-appearing routine that deities do when there’s something I need to learn from interacting with them.
Hermanubis was worshiped mostly by Romans when they dominated Egypt, but he is said to be a particular fave of Renaissance alchemists, and I’m sure there’s some truly obscure-but-relevant detail somehow connected to him which I’ll be amazed when it manifests. Some people feel this incarnation is Thoth-Anubis-Hermes but I just read a piece where he was described as Hermes-Anubis-Hanuman. Trismegistus aspects either way.
You don’t find many historical images or statues of him, and you usually don’t find any figurine of him outside of a museum. I had been considering a couple of online artists who do pocket deities to do a commission, and then I was searching on caduceuses and found the caduceus pipes crafted by Magickdeerystudio, and lo and behold, they make pocket deities and among their offerings is Hermanubis. So my alchemy led me to this guy.
