This is what Christmas dinner prep in my family's kitchen looks like. Dishes waiting for oven space, recipes taped to the cabinets at eye level, and Lord knows you don't want to see the pile of dirty dishes I had a few minutes ago. Thank God for dishwashers. But beneath all the chaos, there's a finely-timed dance happening, between oven temperatures and time and amount of prep required. Everything comes out as it's meant to. This is where the magic happens.
