Necrophages, or the Undead. To a well prepared and well learned Witcher, necrophages pose no threat. Though each fight with them could prove the end for the Witcher, they more often than not do not. All Witcher’s know of the right way to fight a Drowner, Ghoul or Cemetaur, and as the contracts on such creatures are often, they are kept in good practice. So when a contract appears on a village’s message board and there is a Witcher in town, expect it to be completed the next day. So easy it is for them, and yet these monsters can kill off a group of humans as if it was nothing! So who is truly the larger threat? The monster, or the one that hunts it down as though it were a rabbit? - Monstrum, or a Portrayal of Witchers

Necrophages always were simple. And thankfully, the contract Jovan had meant that the beast he was seeking could be killed during the day. A cemetaur, at all times prowling the burial grounds deep within a forest, used by the local village as was their tradition. There were corpses piled on carts when he had walked into the town, left because of the beast. According to the graveskeeper, their souls could not lie peacefully unless they were buried there. Knowing the nature of the undead, Jovan was inclined to help, and the orens offered by the villager confirmed that he would. 

Through the many trees of the local woods he trekked, until he found the clearing. The potions Swallow and Wolf were imbibed, and then the wait began for the beast to rear it’s ugly head, the Witcher hiding at the wood’s edge.
