i need to seriously consider removing the mahileyla portraits i commissioned from my desktop wallpaper rotation because every time the leyla one shows up i'm like waow..... my evil blond character who wants to kill me so bad and every time the mahi one shows up i'm like ohhhhh my god ddd my mahiiiiii he's so kind 😭 he's sooooo kind. so either way i'm not getting a lot of work done.

the functional fantasy of leyla lastname as a character vis-a-vis their parents is the ability and eventuality of being able to, in some material way (matricide), cut off a world that has irrevocably changed your life; even if sometimes that was ostensibly for the better. that they have multiple destabilizing forces in their life and their response one day to one of these forces is to say okay, alright, this has been my life but it won’t be anymore. i don’t care that she loves me. i don’t care that nothing might change. i don’t care if everything might change. i’m not doing this anymore. the functional fantasy of leyla lastname as a character in regards to their relationship with mahi is of course the possibility to do something truly terrible and have the blood all over you and still have someone let you get away with it. that there is someone who loves you and it’s his only transgression. most importantly however the functional fantasy of leyla lastname is that they roll a d4 for their pronouns and they’re hot.
