Let’s be Meteors | Maia and Marius
Down on a particularly nondescript patch of valley floor, a strange mist was spreading -- way too quickly to be normal, and since Marius wasn’t aware of any Mancers currently operating in that area, chances that it was the Knights’ doing were high. Even as he watched, the smoke lazily curled around the trees lining the middle heights of the small rise he was standing on. Yeah. Better do something about that, soon.
If it was just mist he could simply dissipate it -- water was water no matter how malevolent it might look -- but if it wasn’t? Knights waiting in hiding? Fun, sure, but another blade at his side sure would be useful. And if that particular worst case scenario didn’t come true, at the very least he’d have a companion to talk to while trekking around.
A quick look around revealed that while there certainly were a whole lot of people milling around, none of them were all that interesting just now-- except, hang on, nevermind. Was that one of Loriente’s kids running about? Maia, the energetic one -- perfect. Marius approached the kid quickly, waving at her to catch her attention. “Hey, Ballerina! I could use your help, if you’re game.”
