Two government-printed documents discuss ways to detect and eliminate “the insanely lethal practice of sending bombs through the U.S. mail” (United States House of Representatives, 1994, p. 1). During the House of Representatives subcommittee hearing, Deputy Chief Postal Inspector Michael Hearst testifies, “We have found that our best defense against mail bombs, however, is to educate postal customers and employees” ( 1994, p. 4).

And educating postal customers is precisely the purpose of the Postal Inspection Service’s 1981 pamphlet: “What can you do to help prevent a mail bomb disaster? First, consider whether you or your organization could be a possible target” (n.p.). The Bombs by Mail pamphlet goes on to provide identifying characteristics of mail bombs as well as directions for proceeding if a mail bomb is suspected.

New Year/New Camera

I normally don't post these updates on the tumblr... Just on facebook. But I just got a new camera so it's probably time to show off more! I'm sure too many people have never noticed the photoblog on my website too. I take pictures at every show I attend which amounts to several thousand photos from last year alone! It's going to be a long process getting them all up here... So we'll start off with my NYE show at Moccasin Bend Brewing Company. Which was pretty damn fun!
