I know that YWMTP is based on your original work, so I was wondering how close you think Rafe and reader are to your OCs? Have they stayed as close as you originally had them, or have you adapted the story to go more with something else?

When you were planning the story, do you think you have kept with your original plot or have you changed it?? If you have, what is your favorite part that you have changed? If you haven’t, what is something small that if it was changed would completely change the trajectory of the story?

Who is your favorite character in this story and why?

And lastly, how on earth do you come up with your stories?? Do they all just pop up in your brain or are you influenced by other forms of media? Or is it a mixture? I would love to know how you think 😭

I love questions so ask as many as you want 🙂‍↕️ I'll be more than happy to answer them this is LONG so read below the cut. Loved all your questions, thank youu, love you 🩵

1) Them as single characters I feel it's pretty much the same but dynamic wise it changed a lot this was because when I started adapting it to the fic it made me see things in a different perspective and it made more sense to change some stuff like tone down a bit his cockiness, like Rafe still has it but is not as strong as I wrote Nathan. Here's an extract from the OG work and you can see she can't stand him and is more reactive to how he acts.

“You’re in my seat” Nathan announces “Well you weren’t here” I smiled and got back to reading   “I’ll give it to you for that pretty smile” he teases and sits in the other seat. “Oh, jeez, thanks,” I say sarcastically, and I finally look up to see him. I’ll give it to him. He is good-looking.

2.1) The main plot is there but I have deleted and added stuff for the sake of the fic BUT like I said the fic has allowed me to see things differently and some of the stuff that I didn't originally plan will be added to the OG work once I finish the fic 🙂‍↕️ the friend groups weren't part of the original idea, like Avery and Nathan share one friend group and that's it. She has other people but her main friends is just that one friend group AND they didn't meet in sophomore year in the OG hehe they met at the end of freshman but I liked more the idea of her meeting other friends, reconnecting with Kelce and having a link to Rafe but never meeting until after because it made it more like oh they were linked yet never knew.

2.2) I LOVED adding the fight with Jordan, and Jordan in general, the man was actually just gonna be mentioned never have a big role but I fear he's the catalyst for a lot of things moving forward that originally they were a tad bit forced or happened way to quickly with no actual reason behind it. Also this might be a spoiler 🫣, like it's known people will find out, the way Dean finds out about Nathan and Avery is a bit different than how Kelce finds out about Rafe and reader and I really like the way he will find out now, it's more realistic than the way I had planned. Her birthdays are also added and they have a big meaning behind it.

2.3) There's a game before thanksgiving that would change the trajectory if I were to change it. Like a lot happens in that one night, it's very important it stays put.

3) I love Emily with my heart and soul, we haven't seen much about her but she's literally the best, like she is the only consistent thing from the OG work that's on the fic. Same name, attitude, everything. She is a very honest kid and she looks up to other women around her. Her mom being one of course but when she meets Avery in the OG she just immediately clicks with her, and Nathan I feel falls more in love with Avery right there because the kid is picky and can be harsh and is not being like that with Avery. Right now in the fic we have seen Emily likes reader from that one short facetime call and I'm really excited about their future interactions.

4) I started actively reading when I was 12 and I started writing on wattpad at the ripe age of 12-13, I based it off from what I experienced with the twist of how I would like things to workout. But I would also read something, watch something and I didn't like how it went so I started thinking about the other 100 possibilities and started creating my own stories.

This story specifically I created the couple first, their personalities and the idea of what I wanted but then I remembered I had something written in my docs, that had no name and I had started writing it in March 2023 so last year in June is when I revisited the story I grabbed Nathan and Avery and decided to go more in depth on what I wanted for them with the little thing I had written before. I created a playlist and started getting ideas from songs and the pinterest photos. Also I started reading a lot of fanfics but it was always hockey or football and I was like there's more sports so I picked basketball (even if I know nothing about it) but I never intended for it to be a fanfic until I started You're gonna go far.

I always start choosing names for the couples, my female OC's all have latin backgrounds that's a non negotiable for me. After that I make a playlist and a mood board and decide a trope to follow. Nathan and Avery were the firsts I started writing for, so YWMTP is my favorite idea ever because it's my literally first well thought written work and that I would actually love to put out.

I have at least 5 more couples that I know their dynamic and the trope and have a very raw idea of the plot but nothing else. They also have their playlists and moodboards on pinterest.

the music was SO good. like every scene hit bc of the acting & the music. amazon has out done themselves with this one. i’ve been listening to the soundtrack every since it came out 🤣

i have been listening to the soundtrack so so often, it's amazing. Everyone I talk to about this show tells me about his expressions, they are truly the best, I can't wait to get all the other stories and of course more garretthannah moments because they are not going anywhere.

ahh ilysm babes 🫶🏻 noooooow after dealing with the heavy stuff lets talk about the cast and how they did SUCHHHH a good fucking job. like everyone just made it feel so genuine and it literally felt like a found family and i love that they gave everyone kinda their own storyline and didn’t just focus on the main couple. i’ll never be over this series everrrrrr

it is the best book to screen adaptation. theres like minimal changes in like hmm but i trust louisa because wow amazing season, casting is perfect, music choices. Its sooo much better than i ever imagined.

It is giving more found family than in the books, and I love all of them. I’m getting to love the characters even more with the show + it’s so buzzy. I need 8 seasons more now.

tw sa & off campus spoilers

so i can’t normally watch movies/tv shows that deal with sa themes but i pushed through it because i heard off campus was just really good and the way they dealt with hannah’s sa literally healed something inside me. as a sa victim, i bawled my eyes out during that scene with her mom because ive never thought about it that way. it genuinely had me pausing the screen and asking myself the same question. i know some people are mad about the different changes the show did but i thought it turned out wonderfully and they handled so many different themes/traumas so well. i will forever rewatch and love this show. they did such a good job. i tear up just thinking about it.

sunshine! first off im so sorry you went through that, you are so strong and brave. Also im so happy to hear that hannah helped you heal something, I’m sure this is what they wanted to get out of the show with her storyline. Louisa (showrunner) did a lot of research and it showed, she took it very seriously to portray and handle the situation as good as they could.

I love the show for multiple aspects and this is one of them. I cried in that scene and the one with Allie.
