The Minish Cap Revisited (unfinished, but I want to show progress)
Part 4, Showdown
------------------------------------------------------------
Ezra gives Link advice when fighting Vaati Reborn. Unlike when Ezlo gives advise, Link doesn't have to stop what he's doing to hear what she has to say. This is incredibly handy during boss fights.
"Those dark spheres are hard to shake once they latch onto you. Be mindful of them."
Ezra swung her arm in front of Link with incredible accuracy, stopping the arrow from puncturing his heart. That was her left arm, the good one. She cannot fight, and there is a good chance she will die.
"You must go on without me. I know you can do it."
Link gets knocked onto his back, vulnerable to attack. Just when it seems that he's done for, Ezra gets between him and Vaati, taking him on with two daggers despite her injury. She had once fought him when she was much younger, so close to beating him. Fueled by anger and revenge, she holds him off long enough for LInk to pull himself together, crawling to the sidelines when she cannot manage the energy to fight anymore.
"Is that all you got?! I didn’t wait ten years for you to give me the same crap!"
Link calls out to Ezra, who is sitting with her back to the wall, holding her arm in pain. She had broken the arrow in two and pulled both pieces out herself, covering her wound. She tags along, encouraging Link to finish off the Dark Nuts with what little strength she has left. After Link restores Zelda from her curse, she sits near the doorway, holding her arm in agony.
"I’m no longer pure of heart. The only chance Hyrule has is you."
Ezra tells Zelda, Ezlo and Link why she wasn't able to fight Vaati. She was capable of doing so when she was young and innocent, but in the moment of triumph, Vaati gave up, denying her the satisfaction of defeating him. She lost hope later on, vowing to never trying to be a hero. Somewhere along the line, her negativity corrupted her as she grew up, having given up. She lost the power to quell Vaati's powers.
"I can’t fight evil anymore. I traveled down the wrong path. A dark-hearted indivdual such as myself is no match for Vaati. Darkness cannot get rid of darkness."
