It's the simplicity of it all that is perhaps the most complacent aspect of "likes". You click that ❤️and all feels well with the world, you've done your part...right? . Honestly, I'd prefer getting, for example, 10 Likes on a post about my music and getting maybe 6 album sales or more that correspond closer to that number, rather than getting 80 Likes on a music post...and still only 6 or so album sales. . "Well, maybe they couldn't afford to buy it at the time, Ahmed". Okay, then how about a FREE #Repost/#Regram/Re-something? If you love #independentartists for making music they do that you'll almost never hear on #mainstreamradio stations, and who give you that great alternative to listen outside the #musicindustry machine but you just...Like...what actually is accomplished? 🤔 . Likes ❤️ are definitely appreciated, but many of us are really doing this for the art, for the greater purpose, not the ego. You look at my IG account and you've gotta search deep to find any #selfies of me, and not because I don't like the way I look (because I do, to be honest) but I don't equate my physical with my gift of music, which should, and does, speak for itself. . I love comments more (as in actual words 😏 lol) because I love to read (and write, obviously) & because artists engaging in dialogue with their supporters should be encouraged...unless you prefer I be aloof and mysterious to seem "too #cool"? 😎 . I don't want fame, I want to fulfill my purpose and touch the world with my art and thankfully the positive aspect of #socialmedia & technology allow me to reach the world looking for music like mine because of these posts and hashtags I make, BUT ESPECIALLY #WORDOFMOUTH...so if 100 of you ❤️ something I post but are waiting for someone else to repost but only 3 do, then how does that support? Even if you're on someone else's post having a discussion about favorite songs/artists and mention me but don't "@" or hashtag me, people who read it may not find me or I them. .
