❛ LUCIFER… ❜ gargling blood. his body collapses against the velvet carpet over marble stone floors. body convulsing violently, breath ragged and fleeting. he manages to roll onto his side and take the handle of the dagger protruding from his gut, grip it tight and pull until his blood stains the blade and stains the emerald carpet further. a poetic contrast to his red. some wounds are better left with their weapons still in tact but this one ; this angelic blade would kill him faster than bleeding out.
a part of him cursed the white clad sinner. a part of him admired the banished king in all his sinister glory and a part of him felt for Charlie Magne. not out of love nor out of hatred but pity. be the notion a cause of his once human soul rising from its long slumber and climbing over his malevolent spirit, sitting upon the pile of corpses he’s used and discarded over centuries. the shadows that call him master dancing along the walls and coaxing him to get up and fight. but he’s weak, and he’s tired… and he’s just angry.
angels and demons may be closer to gods, but a human soul possessed strength that can topple empires and demolish monarchies with unmeasurable strength through rage. his wrath has never failed him before, and he isn’t going to let it fail him now. he can already hear the distant screech of angels coming to collect his body and as his gaze falls over to the open balcony he takes a deep breath. polished shoes nearing his form, fabric rustling against each other and the warmth of the devil’s breath against his neck. he strikes, plunging the dagger into the monarch’s shoulder and throwing his full weight onto the blonde as they drop back onto the carpet. his shadows make quick work subduing the adversary and wrapping their tendrils to obscure vision. stumbling to his feet, Alastor leaves the squirming tyrant on the floor and makes way for freedom. two angels swoop in and he doesn’t hold back.

ears perk up at the sound of wings flapping ahead and he locks eyes with the angel that rears their spear back and tosses it like a javelin with an intent to kill. pulling his sceptre from within the void the shapeshifter counters the attack, forcing the weapon to flip in mid air and returning the favour with a precise strike of his sceptre hitting the end of the rod. red paints the sky as the angel, now without one arm screeches in agony and briefly loses momentum as it descends towards the city.
Alastor dares look back into Lucifer’s study, witnessing disheveled blonde locks and ruthless shoes stomping the living life out of shadows with no chance of ever returning. the deer felt sick. his shadows gone, and his king, his confidant, the only demon he could ever truly call a friend finally shows his true colours. of course, he had a feeling of this very thing happening but he thought wrong that he would be by the other’s side. even evil has its morals and his? he didn’t know anymore. the only thing he did know is that he needed to warn Lilith, and he needed to prepare Charlie to face her greatest challenge yet. partners till the bitter end, that was the deal.
turning to face the sky Alastor takes a leap off the edge and lands onto the angel’s backside, jostling their momentum momentarily until he’s able to get himself situated. holding tight and sinking his claws into the feather appendages the blood curdling shriek that fills his ears is enough to force him to wake from the constant threat of his vision veiling in black curtains. Alastor dares not look back as he steers the angel towards a specific direction towards the Happy Hotel.
