shatter BECAUSE REASONS
Send me “Shatter” and I’ll write a scene where your character breaks my character’s heart.
"Are you freakin’ kidding me?!”See, this is exactly why Violet had a no attachments rule. With anyone. But especially with this someone. This is exactly why she’d fought so hard against these feelings.Against letting herself get attached to him.Against letting this become anything but professional. She had slipped up.But so had he.And that had been months before. It had taken her too much time to trust him, only for that all to shatter now. What a fool. What a naive, foolish little girl she had been.
"You know what? It’s fine. Perfectly fine.”The fact that Violet managed to speak those words without her voice shaking almost shocked her. Here was a man she had once hated, and had grown to truly care about, trying to hurt her. Well, she wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction. Not at all. He didn’t deserve that. Not if he was going to end up proving himself wrong.Proving he really was the asshole she had originally thought."Now, if that’s all… I think I’m just going to go. If that’s okay with you.”Unspoken words like ‘asshole’, ‘prick’, ‘dick’, and many more were left there. And she’d truly meant it when she said she was going to go. Fuck the fact that they were in a public setting. At least his enhancements on her had worked, and she could completely vanish now. And that’s what she did, before he could keep talking, keep proving that he wasn’t worth another second of her time. And she didn’t have to go far. Just far enough away that he couldn’t find her, although his words proved he wouldn’t even bother to look. She slid down the nearest wall, once she knew she was far enough away, replaying that conversation in her head. Replaying every previous conversation the pair had had, even from the beginning, when she’d sworn to hate him and had only cooperated for her own sake. And the experiments had proved successful so far.It was only when she’d let her guard down that she became his pawn in another game. There wasn’t a difference between the sadistic man who had tried to kill her as opposed to the asshole who had promised her things. When had she become so stupid? So foolish as to actually believe in someone.Someone who was helping her.Of course that was for selfish reasons. And she had given in to him far too many times. She felt disgusting now. Like she had betrayed herself, more than anything. He was fooling her from the beginning. And she had believed him. But after a few minutes, she almost wanted to slap herself. 'Get ahold of yourself, Violet'. It was a thought, a quiet whisper in her head. 'You're a super, an Incredible. Not only that. You're a hero.Get a grip.’Besides, she had to be back at the NSA the next day.The experiment wasn’t done.
The only thing that was done was t h e m.

I've Got Time
Violet was not looking forward to today. She figured getting through day one would be the most difficult. After that, it would likely get easier to be around someone she had legitimate reason to be terrified of. His so called repentance didn't give her reason to trust him, or to not be afraid around him. The only silver lining was that this would all take place under the NSA's watch, so if anything happened to her, at least they would be around to know about it. She, shockingly, didn't expect anything to happen. At least, not on the first day. He needed this far more than she did, especially from the way he spoke and the way the NSA explained it to her.
She had shown up at the NSA shortly before eight, sitting in the lobby, waiting for Buddy to show up. Honestly, she had no idea what to expect. Whatever his plans were to start this, he had been fairly vague with her, and she was simply trying not to imagine it. She really didn't want to dread this even more than she already was, given that it was going to be a long day, most likely.
Would that she could have gotten out of this, she would have. The NSA had arranged it to work with her school, so it wasn't like she'd lose anytime there, which was one of her concerns before she'd actually gone to Buddy to accept the offer. She still made the three hour drive home that night, the one back to her apartment by her school, and woke up early enough today to make the drive back. That would get taxing, eventually, but for now, she wasn't exactly tired. Just annoyed about the slight disruption in her life.
She was now forced to get to the NSA whenever the schedule requested, but at least she was certain to reap some benefits out of this. Best case scenario: Buddy actually figured out a way to harness and advance her powers, adding to her strength and figuring out a way to possibly mass produce it for Supers who actually continued in the circuit full time. After all, she was a part time superhero, barely even that. Muggings and robberies didn't exactly constitute a high level of superhero status according to the NSA, so she didn't bother logging it with them. The level of injuries she sustained were probably something they'd want to know about, but she had gotten good at treating herself. The NSA was only interested if it could become public knowledge. She worked hard to keep herself, well, invisible.
Worst case scenario? Buddy wasn't repentant, this was all an act to get to one of the Incredibles, to possibly coerce the others into joining, and then to kill them. She still harbored ill feelings towards him, even if she hadn't been the primary target the first time they'd met. There was little doubt in her mind that all was forgiven on his end, since all would never be forgiven from hers. Her own life wasn't nearly as important to her as the others that he'd almost taken that day. Her family had almost lost their lives too, and it was something she couldn't forgive.
And yet, here she was. Semi-willingly offering herself up to be the test subject for the NSA's newest idea. It had merits and, if she had to be honest, Buddy Pine was probably the best person for them to have put behind the project. She'd dealt with some of the behind the scenes guys here, and they weren't exactly brilliant or innovative. It would take less time this way, either failure or success.
Sitting in one of the uncomfortable, waiting area chairs, Violet flipped through one of her books, not exactly really reading the words on the page. Textbooks were boring but they were usually a good distraction, and she needed one of those now. Anything to keep her mind off of this and now, a boring genetics textbook was just what she needed, and reading it was what she was planning to do until Buddy showed up to start their first day of this experiment.

"There isn't a word in the dictionary to describe how beautiful you are. Trust me, I would know."
"…That one was pretty cheesy." And flattering.
You still want a piece of Buddy's ass? >:3
...No thank you.
Has Buddy ever hit you?
No. But he's offered to hit Tony...which I wouldn't mind if he wasn't in jail for 3 months.
Buddy would never hit me.
