Sometimes I really want to read a short summary of what to expect from a game with a very particular description that CATER to my OWN SPECIFIC interests, so here we go.

what to expect from TECHNOBABYLON
point and click adventure cyberpunk detective game, set in a futuristic world where an AI named Central controls the information and where people can log themselves into the internet a la Inception
You play as three characters: Charles Regis, Max Lao and Latha Sesame
The plot mostly revolves around Charles and starts from the classic “a serial killer is murdering all these people”
Charles is a detective who has some heavy past he never really found closure from, he is “old style” and not a fan of AI and Central
Max Lao works with Charles and she is younger and more favorable to AI
Latha is a “trancer”, jobless and addicted to tracing online with her avatar, she wakes up from a trance and finds that someone trapped her inside
flashbacks!
What it means to be alive? Plus a lot of stuff about cloning, religious zealots, genetic engineering, sentient artificial intelligence, PTSD, past wars, dystopian future
cannibals!
as with other games by Wadjet Eye they are always inclusive and they create very diverse worlds
Max Lao is a trans woman
Nina Jeong, one of the secondary characters, is wlw (used to be in a relationship with Imogean)
there’s some other very secondary characters who are lgbtq+ (a couple of husbands, a character who is addressed as they from someone who knows them well vs someone else calling them she, if I remember correctly, and a synthetic implied to be pansexual)
minimal choices during the game
a lot of investigative work
some HILARIOUS moments. I sweat, every time you have to use the split personality on synthetic robots
the puzzles are not too hard, I found that Wadjet Eye games are usually good at making them quite logical
Two endings
The story is complete, but there is an after-ending scene that leaves space for a future story (based on your ending choices)
tw for blood and gore
plot? You are Latha and you just woke up from your connection to find out that someone sabotaged your apartment and you are trapped inside. You also play as Charles, a man whose left genetic engineering to become a policeman and is working with Dr Max Lao to find a serial killer called the Mindjacker. gameplay? typical point and click adventure game, with pixel art characters? Charles and Latha are the main characters, Lao as well even if she is a bit less involved in the facts (but she was my favourite to play as). A lot of secondary characters. sadness level? medium high death?
