Ren’jai’s day was going fantastic - nothing could go wrong today! Ka’karo had eaten all his breakfast without fussing, Da’ae and Narkisos were both in a good mood, nobody was bickering on the skull. It was great! She’d even managed to convince Da’ae that she would hunt dinner tonight. Fish!

She hummed happily to herself as she made her way to her favorite fishing spot in the jungle. A place for peace and quiet, to get away from the Clan and her duties for a few hours. Fishing pole over her shoulder, a small bucket filled with bait in her free hand. She hadn’t been to this beach in a long while. She’d missed it.

Her nose wrinkled at the rancid stench as she got closer to her sacred fishing spot. Soon, she found herself gagging. Covering her nose with her forearm as she looked around for the offending smell. It didn’t take her long to spot it.

There on her precious beach was what looked to be a dead Elf. A dead-DEAD Elf, at that. Her ears wilted and she backed away quickly. She’d return in a few days when the crabs and other jungle animals had eaten the remains.

Once she had escaped the smell, she moved her skull to her lips. “Da’ae, ya gonna’ hafta hunt. Change of plans.”

Day ruined.
