I had 8 piercings in my ears that I was told to take out before leg surgery. They weren’t that old, but I still had to do it.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I'm going to take out my earrings for sure. They told me they want them out in case they have to cauterize anything, so as to avoid burns. When I had an MRI I couldn't get it out & they just taped it down & covered it with blankets, and I was fine. But that was heat coming from the outside. If they have to cauterize anything it'll be from the inside this time.

Oh well. Guess I'll tell them to get out the pliers if they have to.
