you can forget about having nicely groomed horses in December because all it does is rain rain rain
I feel you. My mud goblin is thoroughly pleased with how long it takes me to groom him.
Pro tip; buy a dirt colored horse next time.
I love Jazz, but I miss having a chestnut so much. One of friends has a chestnut, and sometimes before shows she doesn’t even groom her fully. If I don’t spend seven hours with a curry comb and stain remover, my horse looks like a neglect case.
Having both a cream colored pig of a horse and a dirt colored one I feel that. Because I sure as hell ain’t gonna give the dirt colored one a thorough clean before a lesson if I can get away with it. Whereas the cream colored filth needs a 45 mintute groom to even have a sembalance of ‘clean’ and even then he looks like I just pulled him out of the field.
We have a Palamino at the barn where I work, and most of this month was snowy, so he stayed slightly clean. But It’s like 45 degrees now, so I’m dreading coming in to groom him this week. Because Hooch is a mud goblin as well.
I feel like this picture accurately describes how I feel about my non dirt colored horse and the idea of grooming him.
YES! EXACTLY!
My dirt colored horse still manages to be disgusting because of his winter coat trapping every essence of dust in the air and mud on the ground

you know, I missed a really superb opportunity to dress my horse up as howl’s moving castle
Unsure, but ambitious little hoofs - lead by a brave, brave nose.
