Every year we close the office for one or two days to work on free projects. We call it Maker Days — our internal hackathon, so to say. For this years edition some of us wanted to learn something about projection mapping. Here's what it looked liked. The song was created at one of our former maker days.
You're Invited! SEW Moni Quilt Installation @ New York Hall of Science Maker Days
On August 20-21 a quilt installation, hand sewn with lots of love by Sew Moni and Greene & Sunset, entitled "Its story Time" will be hung at the New York Hall of Science for Makers Days. Makers Days are event weekends for family and kids, with hopes of giving them a mix of creative activities as well as exposure to all things science.
We are taking part in hopes of reminding those who view it, that every story counts. Moments and stories, bind us together, stitch by stitch, and bring life to "french seams" if you will. We also hope that our quilt reminds parents about sewing and mending, maybe even encouraging them to learn more about the craft -learn the science of it- and teach a new generation to create. So join us this weekend and get a free bag of fabric scraps and quilting tutorial to begin telling your story!
