Pi Enabled Prosthetic Hand

David Drummond is going beyond 3D printing a hand for amputees. This inventor from Gisborne, New Zealand wants to give them away for free. Dave’s MakerBot Replicator 2X is making his first model, named BOB, a reality. Tucked inside of BOB is a Raspberry Pi 2. It controls BOB and makes it an open-source, integrative tech-platform, which is new for bionic hands. With his first recipient lined up, Dave started Give A Hand, a charity to get the project off the ground. (via 3news)
