Sarah really loved her Christmas tree and it had a will to live, so I used some resin and green dye along with the tree beanches to make her a bowl so the tree can last forever. I am pretty happy with how it tuned out (pun) on the lathe. Turning this oak planter was so difficult because of all the cracking. I filled them with resin after the fact, but when I put it in the jaws, it cracked the resin and spread the wood. This hard oak was also a pain on the tools. I had to stop hollowing out before I was ready because I kept getting caught in the cracks.
