The room fee is $50 per hour with a two hour minimum and is billed in advance to save the date. Food and beverage minimum is $250 and is billed at the conclusion of your visit with a 20% gratuity added. Hosted tabs only. Shift Drinks Relaunches The Makeshift Room, Serving Two Arenas: Business & Pleasure - located on the mezzanine, this dynamic welcoming zone fits the needs of Portlanders and visitors to our fair city.
BUSINESS [daytime only] •Non-Corporate Shared Work Space• If you are one of the many self-employed folks or business travelers who find trying to do a little work in a coffee shop to be taxing, you may consider purchasing a one-day pass to the Makeshift Room. Think of the mezzanine as the secret lair for superheroes, disguised as businesspeople. The cost is $60 a day per person and includes complimentary soft drinks and coffee. We’re happy to make you lunch upon request [normal menu prices]. The hours of operation are 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. One-day passes are purchased with as little as 24-hour notice. •Your Meeting Space, Redefined• When you need a place for brainstorming or to make a presentation, you couldn’t find a more suitable place for your off-site meeting. You may book the Makeshift Room by the day or half-day and host up to 15 folks. The price is $300 for the half day and $500 for the full day. The Makeshift Room is equipped with a 52" monitor with Apple TV to AirDrop presentations. Additionally, Chef Anne Garcia will provide breakfast pastries with fruit or lunch, if you wish [additional charges apply]. The room is booked with as little as 48-hour notice. PLEASURE [evenings only] •After-Party Private Room• Shift Drinks is surrounded by theaters, music venues and banquet facilities. So, when you need more privacy and space than our Baller Room, the Makeshift Room is your choice. The space holds 24 people for a cocktail party style event. •Casual Event Space• Sometimes you need a private space to celebrate with friends and family. We have you covered, a comfort zone, overlooking 12th Avenue. The evening rate for the Makeshift Room is $50 per hour with a two hour minimum and is billed in advance to save the date. We’ve wanted one of Sami Gaston’s images for a very long time. Her “Head to Tail” piece now welcomes our guests into the Makeshift Room. Sami’s artwork adorns Jeffrey Morgenthaler’s book, DRINKING DISTILLED, and you will probably see more of her art beautifying her very own place, Bar Diane, opening soon on NW 21st & Irving. Congratulations Sami & thank you for making our Makeshift Room complete! We’re now ready to officially launch. Stay tuned for details. We’d also like to thank Wonderwall Studio in Austin, Texas for reproducing “Head to Tail” oversized [72x48”] on aluminum. It is stunning. They’re the same folks who created the iconic wallpaper for La Moule from a random 1970s magazine clipping.
