Drugstore Makeup Foundation Routine

So today I did a foundation routine that worked REALLY well so I thought I'd share.

I have naturally oily skin, and I've tried just about everything under the sun to keep my face from getting really shiny by the end of the day.  I don't think I've ever had a day where Ididn'tneed to blot at some point.  I also never really liked spending that much time on my foundation (and I'm not trying to sound full of myself here) because aside from the whole t-zone shine zone thing, I have good complexion.  I almost never have acne, and people often ask me about my "face makeup" when I'm not wearing any.

I definitely won't be doing this in the summer very often, once I start getting a tan I wear very little makeup at all, but I was definitely digging the full coverage look on this wet, cold day.

1. Wash with Olay Shine Control Lathering Cleanser

2. Moisturize with Clean and Clear Finishers Mattifying Moisturizer

3. Apply Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Oily/Combo skin using ELF's flat top foundation brush

4. Apply a very light layer of Rimmel Stay Matte powder using ELF's powder brush

5. Set with a couple spritz of ELF's Mist and Set setting spray and wait for it to absorb

6. Highlight with L'Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer and set it with Revlon Photo Ready finishing powder (translucent)

Then I finish up my contouring (I use foundation, but I'm not going to include it in part of this "routine" because I feel it's more of a cheek/blush related thing).

7. Take my ELF powder brush and BLEND the whole face in with a final layer of Photo Ready

8. Finish with the ELF setting spray again...THE END!

I have to say, this is the fullest face of makeup I'll probably ever wear but I'm on hour 11 of it and I haven't blotted once!  It was very matte at the beginning of the day, and now it looks just a touch dewy, in an intentional way!  I recommend trying these products if you struggle with keeping the shine away and don't want to spend a fortune on high end products.  Fred Meyer, CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid take returns on opened cosmetics so heck, try it out, if it works awesome.  If not, back to the drawing board!
